I was fishing today on Lake Hodgson. It was a little windy but a great day for a sweatshirt. It got warmer as the day proceeded. The birds were active on the lake. Click on the pictures to get a better view.
The Canadian Geese flew bye honking.
The cormorant was showing off on the buoy.
The water pup was a busy place, the Great blue Heron was fishing and the gull and cormorants were resting.
I was able to get fairly close to the Great Blue Heron. I saw him snag several fish from his perch.
The sea gull was not doing much.
Dillon was a little guy fishing the shore. He caught this Yellow Perch, a Bluegill and a War-mouth.
The Fishing Guy caught some also but that's for another day.
Great shots of the birds and the other ediable critters. Good looking fish!!

I love your bird shots, my friend... especially the Heron (yes, I'm jealous too, because I can't get a good shot of one hehe).
ReplyDeleteIf you ever decide to venture out Mogadore Reservoir way... don't be concerned if you see a wolf come running up to you... it's just my boyfriend, Matouk ;-) Gosh I wish I were them with him and Dad right now - we would have been out casting for sure!!!
So many birds near water! Oh, and fish. I guess that makes for a great day! (Needing a sweatshirt in the morning is the first hint of a great day.)

ReplyDeleteOh, that was fun! And, I believe I see crappie. I haven't seen any since I moved from Missouri over 30 years ago. We used to catch them there all the time. I think they are the best eating fish.

Cormorant. We have the elsuive on on the harbour. Beautiful birds. I love all these shots. Never enough birds for me. The Heron is wonderful.
