I have a little wooded are in the area behind my house. I live in a city but am lucky to have this open field with a lot of animals. I even have gotten photos of deer. This is a first, I have seen a Red Fox behind the house but always ghosting through the woods. I had my camera on my dresser and was able to get several photos as the fox passed behind the house. I kept shooting whenever I saw him and these are the best through the trees.
I think you can tell it is a RED Fox from this shot. It was a thrilling capture for me.

I saw a fox cross the road in front of me when I was on my way to work last week. I live in the countryside, but I find it's still quite a rarity to see them... I've certainly never been able to catch one with my camera!
ReplyDeleteI don't get to see them often. And never when a camrea is handy. I can hear them or catch their sillouette and eyes gleaming at night.

Nice! I have yet to capture and image of a fox, came close on a gray this past autumn but didn't have enough light.

That is great! We had a red fox visiting our suburban yard for a few months. Sadly she had mange and eventually died. (Well, I assume she died. The last time I saw her, the infection was pretty bad and her flank was nearly bald. That was right before the big snow we got in November.--She's not been by since.)

Lucky you! Foxes are such beautiful creatures. My dragon must have been related to the dinosaurus.

The fox must be hungry to come so close. We had a mother fox roaming our neighbourhood last summer looking for food to feed her young. Too bad I never had my camera with me when I saw her.
ReplyDeleteI never realised you lived in a city Youa really do ahve a little oasis a wildlife then. Foxes have become quite urban creatures now in the UK. Guess what this is another creature we don't have here.
ReplyDeleteI bet that was thrilling to get a picture of it...I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen a fox. Well, at least on both hands, but probably one. They are so pretty.

Good shot: funny how a fox and deer, despite the city all around, still find a home there.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. I have seen four fox in the wild and it is always a thrilling site. One in western Oklahoma at a job site we were on. Several of us saw it running across a field. Two on the Arkansas River running trails here in Tulsa and one two years ago the Wichita National Wildlife Refuge in southern OK. I love the sight of them.

How AWESOME!!! The other day, on my way to work, I saw one standing in the yard, right in front of a house, just watching traffic - like it was looking both ways before crossing the street... I was so disappointed I didn't have my camera I felt like crying!

Excellent capture ... I have yet to get a good shot of one of these..... we have many around these parts... and they will visit the gardens looking for food. The femails here will be about to give birth soon.... it would be great if I could get pictures of the babies. My friend 'Big Peter' makes a call that the foxes seem to like as he can and dose get them to come towards him.

Great capture. Now i have to tell you about the red fox i had. My uncle the sheep rancher was not pleased with a momma fox that kept attacking his sheep, so the hunt was on and unfortunately the fox was killed, with the discovery of her babies. I believe there were 3. Well knowing how much of an animal lover i was he called me and asked if i wanted one of the babies and of course i had to say Yes. Well i raised that fox for several months. Well let me tell ya, fox doo doo's reek really bad, i was never able to train it to use a kitty box. so it stayed in the bathroom a lot, with newspaper on the floor.For Mother's Day hubby bought me 5 brand new sandals, we left for town and on our return to home all 5 sandals were chewed to pieces. Well after that it went into a cage and shortley released in the wild after uncle found a place to take it too, to adjust it to wild life. Nope i don't think i would ever want another one.
