Wednesday Potpourri - Dragonflies

I have had some fun with dragonflies the last few weeks since they moved north into the area. Several photos are from today at a local Kent park. I'm not the best at ID's but I do enjoy them.

Widow Skimmer - I loved the dead flower it was on.
Common Whitetail - Up close and personal.

?? Clubtail - Pretty long shot on this one.
Widow Skimmer - It gave me a cocked head look.
Widow Skimmer - Neat shot on a colorful flower.
I also got some Damselflies.

  3. I love dragon flies but I can't seem to find any who want to sit still long enough for me to get pixs like you did. These are great FG! What's your secret??

  9. I must say you got real good macro shots. Amazing creatures. I have always wondered what they do besides mate as I always see them near bogs, ponds and marshes but never in my backyard. So they do something around water but I don't know what it is.

  11. Oh, wow, these are very intriguing close-ups! How do you manage to keep them from flying away before you push the shutter? I rarely ever get to catch any of these moving subjects, even ducks in the pond dive away, leaving me with the ripples in the water! ;-)

  19. Great photos... none of them around here are tired enough to rest, I suppose because I have tried to get a photo. They just skitter around and tease me only sitting for a mere second!

  20. Beautiful dragon pics fishing guy! You got to photograph so many! I am really impressed and envious. I'm told there is a great place to go and see them a few miles away from where I live so I may have to cycle down there and check it out. I hope I have the same luck as you, I only saw one last time I went looking :)
