My World # 44

I just made a trip to Pennsylvania to camp and go to a golf outing. It always feels like home when I get back to the Allegheny Mountains. This is a view from the town of Emlenton which has been bypassed since adding the interstate. Click on the photo to get an idea of the size of the bridge over the Allegheny River.
I went down into the town through the windy roads for old times sake. This is a view from the bottom of the river gorge.
We golfed at one of the cheapest courses I have ever played and a senior can play 9 holes for $4.20 + $5 for the cart. I is a fairly hard 9 hole course near where I camp. This was an out building that had seen better days but I love these kinds of shots. The number one fairway runs in front of this building.

    That must have been great. I have never heard of golfing at such a price.

    What a fun trip! And you can't beat the golfing prices! Wow! That's great! Beautiful river and you sure can't beat the golfing prices!!!

    It sounds as if you had a great golf outing. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. When are you going to come down and play one of our courses? I'm afraid it will cost more than $9.20, though.

    I didn't even notice the bridge until I enlarged. Sure is big.
    Really like the old building, yet am surprised the golf course hasn't knocked it down. Wonder what it was originally?

    Camping and golf is an interesting mix.

    Tom, what a neat post. There is nothing better than backroad travel and visiting old and new places off the beaten track and then to get a deal at something you like to do...well what could be better! Have a great week.

    That bridge is really neat. The road seems to disappear into the treed hillside. I don't think I've ever heard of 9 holes being so inexpensive! Score!

    If the cart costs more than golfing - it's cheap indeed! :)

    Nice story Fishing Guy. Nothing beats going to your old stomping grounds. And playing golf at a cheap price too. I'm afraid a round of golf at our Piedmont Golf Club is around $120 without the rented golf cart. Nice river views too.
