Sometimes you are given a gift of photography. I looked out the back window and saw a deer. I ran for my camera to get a few photos. As I took the photos I saw a Black Squirrel on the trike feeder.

As I closed in on the deer I saw that it was a young one that still had it spots. When I clicked on the photo I saw it was a young buck with its horns just starting.

The Black Squirrel was eating the corn and I caught him with a kernel in his hand as he feed.

A Chickadee was on the rail so I took a few snaps of the little guy.

I then looked at my near feeder and what to my surprise was sitting there but a Hummingbird.

What a day and I'm happy to share a few shots.
All that in one day! Three of the four are things I would never see where I live.
ReplyDeleteVery nice captures all. Especially like the squirrel on the trike. What a great set up for wildlife.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy with a day like this, too!
ReplyDeleteExcellent pictures of a wonderful day of viewing wildlife. Does life get much better?
ReplyDeleteThis must have been your lucky day.The deer is so beautiful.

You've some great visitors!
ReplyDeleteYou saw alot of critters in your yard, Tom. Seeing that tiny hummer had to have been such a joy. And you got a great picture.
ReplyDeleteI saw a deer which looked just like yours in the empty lot next door this week. Mine still had some of his spots also.
Betsy
Send that hummer my way! No such bird here on Sasqua Pond Road. For that matter, no black squirrels either. Neat how the wildlife differs from place to place.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can say is that I bless whoever started photography. Without it my last 40 years would have been bleak and empty. I love the way we can share photographs, how they bring back memories and are a conversation piece.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all those critters cooperated and allowed you to get all of these great pictures. And all in one shoot!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures! I love him with his spots. Mine are much older they have their fuzzy antlers. I have them young like yours too but they don't have the spots just the stubs..LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay I am back I cannot find your follow me button anywhere?
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young prince! All your visitors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous, a hummingbird, black squirrel and whitetail all in your yard. You don;t even need to leave the house. Send some to my yard if you get the chance.
ReplyDeleteA good haul Tom. Hummer is my fav.
ReplyDeleteA very productive day in your back yard. It is wonderful that the wildlife is there like that.
ReplyDeleteBusy backyard Tom!! Love the fawn. I have a small update on my caterpillars posted.
ReplyDeleteWow! The deer are lovely. You have captured so much wildlife. Great!
ReplyDeleteWe sure haven't seen much wildlife around here. Guess the tourists run them off! And of course they can't feed anything because of the bears, so the animals stay away. We see prairie dogs and ground squirrels at the golf courses.
Beautiful critter shots. ALL OF THEM!
ReplyDeleteYou were definitely given a gift. It's so fun to grab the camera to get a shot of something and then others start posing for you.
Yay, now I can keep up with your critters. Thank you for putting the button on. People can't follow without it..LOL
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a hummingbird that wasn't flapping away. What a rare capture!
ReplyDeleteWhat a jackpot! Each of these is wonderful and so typical of each critter. I was going to pick a favorite...but I like them all!
ReplyDeleteNow that was a lucky day of photos : ) Love the buck-but I think I like the squirrel better-he is sooo cute.
ReplyDeleteThat button buck will grow spikes next year if he eludes the cars, coyotes, hunters etc.
ReplyDeleteIncredible hummer pic--nice work!
What a beautiful squirrel.. and wonderful backyard animals...
ReplyDeleteI chanced upon to view your blog and found it very interesting. Great ... Keep it up!
