Header Competition # 5

It is time again to change the header. Mac, Tom, Darla and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. Go to the other sites to see their interpretation of Mac's suggestion of a house. Mac has those great places in England to photograph so I wondered what to do. We are keeping it small limited to just to this group.

My neighbor has a bird house, I wondered if that would work. It is in disrepair so I discarded that idea.
I had a photo of a houseboat with a lot of geese. No, that won't do.
How about the lake house I visited this past Spring? No, not that one.
So I decided on a house that really isn't there. You can see the garage entrance and the railing on the roof with an entrance on the far side. The house is completely underground. The people were very energy aware and wanted to insulate the house with the dirt. No windows in this house so it is dark all the time. Definitely something different for the header contest.

    Very clever Tom. I like the green house idea but at least need some skylights. Also like the bird house. Now I have to go check out everybody elses. Good thing there's only you 4 or I'd run out of time, and memory of which one was which.

    Ooooh....I want a house like that....think how cool (literally) it would be here (South Georgia) during our hot summers...and how 'mild' it would be during the winter. I love this house!!!!

    I don't think I could live in a house with no windows, but still, a cool house it is. :-)

    Interesting concept! Although pushed by some as energy saving, I don't think the housing industry jumped on the bandwagon.

    That's really cool Tom! There were a couple of underground homes across the road from where we lived in Virginia. The front side of those were all windows though so it wasn't all dark.
    Got to check out the others....
