My World Tuesday Season # 2 Episode # 8

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Louise, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Check out the new layout at the My World site. I will be travelling tomorrow and Wednesday so I will get back to you when I return.

This is a look at the John Davey Arboretum that is across the road from the Davey Tree main office complex. There are plenty of trees surrounding the area hence the name.

A log cabin was moved into the area. The cabin was from Lisbon, Ohio and was built in 1808. From 1808 to 1833, it was the home of a newspaper called The Ohio Patriot. It had been used as a jail house somewhere in its history. It is well restored and a neat place to see as you travel State Route 43 North out of the city. The parking nearby is very poor.

There are a lot of neat sites around the world you can visit by clicking above.

  3. Very nice cabin. The turkeys the other day were great. You have a lot more critters than we do in our neighborhood. I've seen turkeys once this year, I think.

  6. I don't see a chimney, I hope it doesn't get too smokey inside.

I haven't been to a log cabin except on TV. Thanks

  9. A lot of the neat sites are close to home. I'll be staying out of the "country" til deer season is over. We have a lot of log cabins in the Hocking Hills.

funny I live in a wee log cabin (as does your fox photo;-}) and it also was moved here. But mine was not a jail it was a model home. Ha. I guess the little ones can be moved.
