My World - Year # 2 - Episode # 4

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Louise, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Check out the new layout at the My World site.

Halloween in Kent means two things. Trick or treating for the kids during the day and here are some cute costumes. This guy was riding his horse to collect candy. The Grinch even showed up looking pretty pleased with himself.
The neighbors up the road had quite the display.
Hear him play.

The witch at the door was really neat.
We conversed a bit.

The second part is downtown at night. The college and town folk come out. The business even have the grain elevator lit up.
The costumes are pretty funny with the five fat ladies walking through the town.
It looks like the big bad wolf talked red into a date.
The roaring 20's were still in vogue.
There were a few goblins on the building and a lot of people on the street and sidewalks.
See a lot of other worlds above.

  3. Wow, FG! Your town really does Halloween. I thought the witch was fake until I heard you conversing with her. The Fat Ladies take the cake, though!

  11. What fun!! I am not sure I would have had the courage to chat to that witch. I have enough problems looking in the mirror in the mornings. :)

  12. Our Halloween was much tamer than that, though I did see a few cute costumes (and a lot more Dads at the end of the driveway reading email on their Blackberries!)

  13. Looks like everyone in Kent had a great Halloween. Love the Five Fat ladies... My childhood friends and I wouldn't need any extra costumes for that one!!!! ha

  15. Looks like you guys take Halloween seriously there.
I love the little kids dressed up for Halloween. It looks like the grownups got into the act big time also.
I realized just this year that Halloween has turned into my favorite holiday. The weather is still pretty good, you don't have to buy anything for anybody or send them cards. You can dress up and have fun. And, if you can't make it home for Halloween nobody feels sorry for you.

  18. It's really a big thingy over there. Down here I think only kids in the country are doing that not much though. No costume either. Aussies are frugal in general so they can't be bothered with expenses. I remember kids in the neighbourhood coming in group, door knocking bringing a sackcloth for the treat only to be turned down by me because I had no idea what it was about. Poor darlings.

    I like your new header!

  24. the green kid is fun to watch... and oh boy, that witch is scary.

too bad we don't do tricks or treat here but we do celebrate halloween by going and staying at the cemetery all day and pray for our dearly departed..

  27. Tom what a wonderful post and great photo captures. Living in a rural area right now so we don't see much or any of the kids however the adults have a pretty wild party in town. Thanks for sharing, it was nice to be taken back to when my daughter was young and we had so much fun at Halloween.
