My World - Year # 2 - Episode # 6

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Louise, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Check out the new layout at the My World site.

The Cuyahoga River is the reason Kent exists. The bridge upstream from the Main Street bridge which I have shown on the My World site is the Crane Avenue bridge. I showed it last Winter after a train derailment closed it down. It is being replaced through the Economic Recovery Act. They are changing the intersection and making better access to the bridge. I am standing to the left of where the new bridge will cross the river.
Standing on the Crane Avenue bridge you can see the construction progressing for the bridge supports.
This is looking down the Cuyahoga River just to the left of the construction.
This is looking upstream to a more calm scene on the Cuyahoga River.

  14. I really like the how the old bridge looks with it's distinctive and time worn rock. Yet can respect change in traffic needs. Sure hope there is no plan to remove the old bridge. That last view is so serene. Was the river ever used for transportation?
    Nice pics Tom.

  17. How wonderful to have the Cuyahoga River flow through your town. No wonder you're a "fishing guy"! The trees along the way look so colorful with the changing leaves.
