Today's Flowers # 101 - Orchid

My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 2 GMT is the post time.

My daughter is the queen of orchids and grows really neat varieties. The color on this one is hard to describe.
As you can see the bloom has some real variables in the color scheme.
I enhanced the border around one bloom to show its true beauty.
See a lot of neat flowers at the above link.

  2. That is a pretty flower. I enjoyed your photos. My son grows some orchids. I grow so many other things, that I am a bit afraid to try them. They probably are not as difficult to keep alive as I'm imagining, so maybe when I retire, I'll see about trying some.

  3. Your daughter's orchid is absolutely stunning. The colors are so bright and cheery. I understand the growing conditions have to be 'just so' in order to have success with orchids. This one certainly likes where it's living!! ~karen
