The header theme this week by Lanny and is ""Weed or flower". I chose this in honor of Lanny joining the group. She is always working in the dirt with neat garden beds. She may find this week there are some other gardeners around. Mac, Darla, Gail's Man, Lanny and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. Gail's Man is off acting tonight, so he is not posting this week.
Martha and Tom are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.
I knew exactly what I was going to post this week. After a trip to Lake Hodgson for fishing and photography here is my offering. So is this a weed or a flower?
It has a regal name and a pretty flower. It is Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus Carota), sometimes called Wild Carrot. It has a neat flower.
You can fancy up the photo.
But the shot I liked best is in the header.
See the other neat post above.

Bonjour dear Tom,
ReplyDeleteI'm enchanted by your beautiful delicate flowers.wow I bet you did such a great time in Lake Hodson.Have you got a lot of fish?Hmmm I love the cute Wild Carrot, thanks for teaching me its name.
hugs, purrs and love

That header photo is wonderful. Wow, how far you have come in your photography. You are an expert now.
ReplyDeleteWell Tom I dont know, but its a beaut.
ReplyDeleteLooks definitely a flower to me.
ReplyDeleteI believe it is a wildflower. Your photographs are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful FLOWR=ER!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tom... I was wondering who it was that came up with the definition of a "weed" ... Some of the most beautiful flowers are what some might consider a weed... Whatever it is, you got some nice shots of it!
ReplyDeleteMy vote says it is what it is...
A flower... I'm no botanist, but I'm sure that's what you call something growing on the end of a stem of a plant. LOL :)
Perfect one, Tom, for your header theme. I love Queen Anne's Lace --and it grows wild everywhere up here. I never considered it a weed since it is used for wedding flowers, etc... BUT--I guess it IS a weed.... It's a pretty one though.
ReplyDeleteBetsy

ReplyDeleteExcellent Shot I must say and I always admire all those with 'green fingers' :D
ReplyDeleteA flowering weed to some, yet delicate and fine like lace to others. Nice!
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed a neat photo. I love the third picture. Seems like it is a photo from a magazine.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought carrots were orange in colour LoL !! great shots Tom :)

ReplyDeleteI like the last round shot best!
ReplyDeleteMy today's flowers was a weed. :)
All very beautiful images, Tom. I like a lot the third one and the nice header.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful flower...not a weed! Wonderful shots of it.
ReplyDeleteI say it's a flower-even though it is a weed : ) I like them-they seem so old fashioned!
ReplyDeleteThe close-up is really really lovely.
ReplyDeleteWell darn, I missed the header shot!!!
