This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Click to visit other sites. A Happy Labor Day to all in the USA, a day of rest.
I was on the lake last week when the same big orange buoy was giving another gift. This time a Great Blue Heron was using it as a perch.
I tried the same troll as close as I could to get photos.
But Great Blue Heron are craftier then Cormorants. See what others have to offer at the site above.

What a handsome bird! Great captures, Tom! Always enjoy the photos you share with us! Have a wonderful week!

Ooh, that's clear enough. I see the troll alright! Have a nice week ahead, Tom!
ReplyDeleteArnt you the lucky man Tom, to find these photos while enjoying your fishing.
ReplyDeleteYou took some nice pix here!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Tom... You managed to get some good ones of that beauty on the buoy....
ReplyDeleteHope you have had a great Labor Day.
Betsy
LOL -- I don't imagine the heron was really happily balanced on that buoy, or concerned about having his portrait taken, either!! Good try.
ReplyDeleteI always like to look at your photos because my dad was a "fishing guy" too. He liked to wear waders and stand in cold rivers, fly-casting.

Looks like he was watching out for you. Great picture.
ReplyDeleteSuper shot! Did he kick the cormorant off this perch? ~karen
ReplyDeletethese are some great captures FG.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, these guys usually fly off before I can get too close. As you probably know they are pretty good fisherman.
ReplyDeleteThat Great Pumpkin buoy is quite the bird attractant.
ReplyDeleteFantastic captures. You have great lake, where you can see variety of birds,
ReplyDeleteThe Great Blue may be crafty, but I don't think he's a match for you. I think you got a couple of great pictures of him on that buoy.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics! What a great pose the heron put on for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat colour contrast I must say :D
ReplyDeleteSo what did he do or do we have to wait :)
ReplyDeleteNow that is what I call the prefect fishing spot Tom. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW I see you have coins in your header - do you know much about them? I have a coin collection and dont know what to do with it so I am trying to find out if it is worth anything before getting rid of it.
What a popular spot for the birds...
ReplyDeleteI love the Great Blue Herons. They are so graceful in flight.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
This Heron is so beautiful!Once again your pictures remind me a Heron that I used to see in the lake inside a park near my home.Suddenly he diapered and I miss him!
ReplyDeleteThanks for these lovely pictures!
Léia

ReplyDeleteA lot like my Grand Children, can swallow without chewing
ReplyDeleteYou know, Tom, that takes some great skill to fly in and land on something so small in the center of a lake. LOL
