I was panning on the deer as they ran through the heron rockery in the CVNP and one of the herons was scared and was going the opposite direction. The panning was good for only the deer.
Here a Great Blue Heron in flight.
Here is an American Eagle flying over the lake.
Here is a Osprey flying with a fish.
Here is a sea gull flying over the water.
Here is an example of what happens when you don't pan. The standing gulls are in focus while the flying one was not. It could have been had I panned it but I just held still and shot..
See what the others show on my side bar.
Wonderful captures of beautiful birds, Tom!! It's always a pleasure to visit your blog! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteNicely done! The heron did not want to stay around with the deer approaching.
ReplyDeleteThe heron and seagull are my favorites. Panning gets exponentially trickier when the subject is not necessarily going in a predictably straight line, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat's what we call nature at its best.

I cannot pan a decent photograph; I keep trying, but it is so difficult to me. Very good job!!
ReplyDeleteI love the heron....and I would love to get a photo of an eagle.
Beautiful job.
Love the bird images. It's nice to get those in focus; I actually really like the one with the flying bird not in focus!
