It's Sky Watch Friday and it's your chance to post your Sky pictures and go to Wiggers World to join. This is a pair of sheds that I pass on the way to work that I enjoy photographing. The yellow shed is usable but the green roofed shed is done for. This is not far from where I helped the snapping turtle.
Love them barns, Man! I see run down old barn remnants occasionally, and wonder why no one does a proper demo. But they make for cool photo opportunities, at least!
Hey, I finally went fishing last night! It was loads of fun! Now, I need to find a few good spots and buy more poles for the kids.
Great shots of this long-ago time. And I enjoyed reading about your encounter and rescue of the snapping turtle. I had never seen one until moving to MN and I posted on my experience last year. http://nonizamboniblue.blogspot.com/2007/05/you-say-pliocene-i-say-miocene.html
Those are some great photos. I love that first shot. Nice work, thanks for sharing. We have a lot of old shed like that around Iowa. I have often thought that I should photograph them.
Just calling back to see how ity went this week... you did well again with these great comments. I have become quite a fan of these sheds and barns in the past year I've been blogging... it started of with one of Dots pictures then someone posted another and by the time I got to see the third I was hooks... same with the covered bridges.. Catch up again soon tom
Seeing buildings like these make me a little sad. There was probably a time when they functioned well and hard, and now mother nature has decided that it belongs to her once again.
Those sheds are pretty cool ... and I also like the powerfull contrast between the two photos!
ReplyDeleteA little work and those barns will be perfectly functional! What a great view.
ReplyDeletevery beautiful photos
ReplyDeleteLol! I guess it takes a little more than a little work to fix this. But the shots are great:D

Ok, yep, I think that shed has seen its day. It looks like someone sat on it... wonder how much longer before it caves right on in!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
I agree with sandy. I really wish people would try and preserve the old barns and buildings. They are so full of history..

Good photos. I always like to photograph such scenes.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good place to see some wildlife unless there is a development screened from view by the trees.
Thanks for your many visits and comments on my blog!

It's sad to watch old buildings rot away, but maybe the green-roofed shed had a good life. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat sheds and they need more than a lick of paint:-)
