My daughter flew in for a visit on Thanksgiving day. I went to the airport to get her. She flew in on American Airlines which was to land at 3:15. At 3:08 I was on the exit ramp a mile from the airport and what do I see but an AA plane coming to land. Since it was Thanksgiving Day and the traffic was light I was sure it was my daughters plane. She said they got quit the show as this approach takes you out over Lake Erie to land.

We have had gray skies all week but the sun had come out and the weather had improved. It was her flight and the only AA flight that landed at that time

She had asked me for no snow and I explained I had no control over the weather. She told me she went over my head and asked the man upstairs for a change. We have had two great days so far but what they are predicting now she may need more intersession.

It has been a great visit so far and the ladies are out Black Friday shopping all day. I was out first and picked up a couple of things and was home by 7AM.
No Black Friday shopping for me!!!! I don't like shopping even when there are good deals!!! There aren't many women like me I'm sure!!! My hubby loves it since I'm not out spending our money!!!! ha ha...
ReplyDeleteI know you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Glad your Texas daughter could get there!!!! SPECIAL!
An age old question that civilization has struggled with since record keeping began: can we change the weather? There's a saying in my native Maryland that "if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes because it's bound to change."
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday...Thanksgiving, (NOT black friday shopping). Isn't it wonderful when family gathers?
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to actually catch the flight she is on while it's in the air!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your having a good visit!
Who knows, maybe the big guy will meet her halfway and only snow a little.
Great photos and i am so glad that your daughter came home for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteFor me and Black Friday, i was up at 3:30 am could not sleep as i was hoping to get to Walmart by 5 am so i could snag that 50" Plasma tv. and by golly they had 3 50's and i got the last one, i was and am a happy camper. $798.00 which i know had to be the cheapest price so far for one that size.Hubby did say that he would never go that early again. we were home by 5:30 am
Nice text and photos, Fishing Guy! Glad you had a very good Thanksgiving holiday.
ReplyDeleteAaah! Family get-togethers, better weather and shopping! What a great combination.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog you have here, Fishing guy. Thanks for dropping by my blog and leading me here.
Wishes for one happy weekend! Pass from a my blog I have gift for you!
ReplyDeleteGlad your daughter got to come home for a visit. My girls went shopping at 4:00 a.m., I only warmed the car up for them, and that was with a smart key, didn't even have to go outside!
ReplyDeleteIt was neat that you were able to get pictures of your daughter's plane coming in. I hope you've had a wonderful weekend and that your daughter will be able to enjoy 'no snow' while she's with you.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are having a good time with your daughter. I wouldn't be too worried about the snow. Anybody that can tackle Black Friday shopping can handle anything!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice when the kids come home..a fun change for everyone. Glad you are enjoying her visit... and hope she gets back home b/f that white stuff arrives, again!!
ReplyDeleteA Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteNice photos too!
Thanks for your comment on my blog!
The photos of the snow made me appreciate our 75 degrees on Thanksgiving. Larry and Gene golfed!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have your daughter and family together.
Great photos as always.
Home by 7 a.m.? You're lucky you didn't get trampled. I never, EVER shop on Black Friday! Well, a long time ago I used to go to outlet malls with my mom that day, but not since she couldn't go. It makes my head ache to even think about it!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely Turkey Day weekend with your daughter. How cool that you captured her plane as it was approaching!
