Halloween in Kent

There are some people in Kent that decorate for Halloween. This is one of the most decorated in a 25' x 10' front yard they do a lot. This was the day after Halloween, note the snow on the car.
These people also do a lot in their front yard.
Downtown Kent and the Kent State University have a party downtown. The streets get really crowded at 11 PM. This is 10 PM at the half time of the Ohio State / Penn State football game and I wasn't willing to stay longer.
Kent lights up some buildings for the show.
The streets and sidewalks are filled with revelers.
This was my favorite group display. The boat Orca and Jaws itself chasing it. Really cute idea.
Where's Waldo?
These two adults just came from a renaissance fair.
My number one pick for best costume. This guy walking on his hands all night. I hope you got this one as your number one pick also. (He is really on his feet and he has holes in the pants to see through. Click on the photo and you will see this.)
There were about 10 real policemen on the corner. They normally arrest about 100 people. About 60 of them for under age drinking. The legal age is 21 in Ohio. There is a special court the on Sunday to clear the cases.
Our calm downtown becomes active on a few days a year but this is the most late night activity. All the bars are filled to over capacity.

The guy walking on his hands....great costume, but I don't think I'd want to wear it for long.

  10. Well, I wouldn't have went up to those two scary houses! Ya'll sure know how to party. The guy on his hands, old gymnast or rejected circus clown, lol. Good post. Come check out Lake Jackson, you probably already know of it. I thought of you when I took the pics this morning!

  15. What a fun time that must have been. I loved the hand-walking guy. Not too surprising about the crowded bars.
