We are having a winter wonderland in Kent, Ohio. We almost had all the snow melted away and from a slow rain all day bur things are changing today.
This is my mailbox and paper tubes after last weeks snow storm
The house was decorated for Winter.
The garage took on a special appeal.
Today the salt trucks were out spreading the streets because we are to freeze tonight.
I got pretty close as the truck slowed down for a School Bus. This is a mixture of snow and salt as they both come down onto the streets.
I thought this field gave the feel of the conditions we are under today.
Winter could be here to stay. I wonder what my daughter from Mexico will thinks when she arrives from the sunny South.

ReplyDeleteI've experienced winter in Korea and Japan before and I quite liked it, for the first few times anyway. Lovely photos, I'm wishing for a white Christmas. But until something magical happens to let it snow in the tropics, I'll limit myself to a white sand beach Christmas :)

Wonderful snow pictures we had just a dusting here in NC of Friday. I sure do miss the snow of NJ and so do my kids.Keep safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

ReplyDeleteAh--I'm so jealous, FG..... BUT--if you have to drive in that junk, the best thing to do is to follow a road scraper!!! Be Careful in the morning--if there's alot of ice!!!

ReplyDeleteYou've got some serious cold already! We've only dropped into the 20's a couple of nights. Great pics and story about the silk mill on your World post. I have seen similarly designed cotton mills in the south, though not as big. And I like your rose post - nice work with the editting!

Judi: I wasn't that close to the truck, 50 feet back. The 10X zoom definitely makes it look closer plus some cropping. I was stopped in the second photo and the truck just started to move. I guess it was creative photography.

ReplyDeleteLooking soooooooooo cold. Hope the icicles don't bring the gutters down. I remember as a child we would get so excited when there were icicles. We were in Georgia and didn't get them every year.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love snow, but we hardly ever get snow here though. All around us will get their share, but for some reason - we get left out!

it's pretty cold there! it's good that i live in a tropical country because i can't stand too much cold.
ReplyDeleteWow fishing guy, you can keep the cold. it has been in the 50's here, and I am loving it. Can stay this way till we get a bit more work done, then I will be ready for a deep snow winter.. have a great turkey day and enjoy your family..

Looks like you could do with some loft insulation FG. All your warmth is going through the roof, causing those icicles to hang of the guttering! exciting weather anyway, better than our 20min flurry!!
