Wednesday Potpourri #3

Here it is Wednesday again and I get to show you any photos I choose.

I thought I would start with a prayer for our first black President Barack Obama. Who better to lead us then one of my local Black Squirrels. When I saw this photo I wonder how I would use it. May Mr. President Obama lead our country out of the mess we are in at this time.
My other Black Squirrel on the Maple Tree looks on and doesn't know what the fuss is about.
There is a local Grey Squirrel that joins in on the prayer, may all people black and white join in to help this country heal from its present problems.
Our temperature is 75 F today and this was last week in the morning. My car was covered with ice and snow. The ice was so think I had to let the car warm up to be able to scrap the window.
This is my truck and the snow can clearly be seen here. It is warm for a few days then the weekend will come in with more cold weather. What an unusual Fall.
I do hope you enjoy the potpourri of shots I chose to share.

  3. Love those squirrels. I do the same thing. Take a picture and then wonder what I'll use it for.
I'm glad we haven't had snow and ice. And I hope we don't this year. I grew up in WV and I've seen enough and drove in enough snow to do me.

  11. Well, well, who would have thunk it. A black squirrel representation of our new president-elect Barack Obama. Fishing Guy you are getting so creative in your thinking! I just love it.

Better yet the squirrel is praying. We all should be praying that this election that was tense and contencious went off so well. Voting Day showed some of the best qualities of all Americans, Dem or Repub or Black or White or Catholic or Protesant or Jew or Muslim. Even better yet the day itself in how it unfolded peacefully helped raise our American image in the world. Great post.

Now Jack says that you can't have Indian summer until you have had a hard freeze. So FG you are in Indian summer. Do get off the computer and enjoy it by taking the boat out this weekend.

  13. I am so jealous of you! I have NEVER seen a black squirrel and I am SO jealous.

They must be a regional thing. That's all I can figure.

Awesome pictures as usual! I adore your captions!

    Blessings,

  17. Amen to your prayer! It isn't going to get better overnight and he has a lot of work to do. Love that squirrel and feel like hopping in my car and driving to Ohio to find one! My sister-in-law in Springfield, Ohio has seen a white one in her neighborhood. I posted white ones from Illinois earlier this year. I really love those black ones!

  18. Loved this post and its relationship to prayer. I saw a albino or white squirrel the other day. It had pink eyes and a pink nose. First I ever saw in my life. My daughter photographed it in Piqua, Ohio, I think it is. Here is the link to her post showing several photos.

  27. I'm glad to see that someone else had ice and snow on their car. Well, I don't feel so alone in winter. I'm sure the prayer for our new president elect will be well received. He and all of us could use some divine assistance.

I really like that dramatic sky watch picture you posted. And, you still have so much color left.
