I have been to the Cuyahoga River quite a bit on a project I'm working on and the river always calls and say capture this shot. The river changes into rapids in this portion of the river and it is fairly shallow and rocky.
There is even a split in the river and some driftwood has caught up on a central island.
I am moved by the movement of water as the river flows over the rocks of time. I think back to when the Indians used this area to cross the river. They depended on the river for its life giving power.
It still gives life today to the many Canadian Geese that inhabit its shores.
This is a group of Mallard Ducks that are swimming on the river. This is their home and they use the flow of the river to find their food. They were easily swimming against the current by staying close to the shore.
The Cuyahoga River is a neat place to visit and I will use it in future Sky Watch and My World posts.

Beautiful area. My favorite is of the close up of the water showing the current and "Life" of the water.

ReplyDeleteHi Tom. Love the river shots and the geese and ducks. I don't really get to see a lot of water fowl around Hartford City. There is some, if you look hard enough. They were everywhere when I went to New Castle with Lori in August for a horse show. There was a nice lake across the road from where we were, and when things started winding down, I went over and got a lot of good shots.

It's not our x-mas however.We also celebrate Christmas which is more a religious feast in Church and a Christmas tree at home and we sing X-mas carols in the weeks before the 25th of December. We have four Advent Sundays in Church to prepare ourselves for X-mas just like all other western countries. St. Nicholas is just an extra event.
Beautiful I know there is a lot of wildlife around there.
