I have a field directly behind my city lot. I have seen birds, rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs, skunks, raccoons, foxes and deer that live in the woods. It used to be a nursery 30 years ago and you can see some overgrown shrubs from the edge of the woods. You can plainly see the deer trail I went in on.
This is one of the more unusual tree trunks I saw. I do think it looks like a cross between a frog and an anteater. Can you see the eye, mouth, legs and snout?
There are definitely some areas that say no trespass.
You also get into some misty areas and wonder which way to go.
It can get darker in the woods so you must take care.
I took my youngest grandson back into the woods. We found a groundhog mound. He found two tails from baby squirrels. The fox must have eaten the rest. I still don't know where the fox lives and haven't seen him for a while.
This looks like an interesting place for a walk.

What a terrific place to walk! I guess you can spend several hours out there:) It's so nice to go a place were you can get out and enjoy the fresh air and just walk for as long as you want to. Thank you for the nice comment on my blog. I really appreciate it.

It seems to be a place with lots of interesting things to be seen and some are quite weird too, like that tree trunk.

If you go down to the woods, the surprise we get are what you might find. Poor squirrels! The day I tire of wandering through places like this is the day I stop. Lovely virtual walk and especially liked the sunflare.

ReplyDeleteI wish I had a wood as close as this. One tip on the fox.. follow your nose.. if you are near its home you should be able to smell it.. it can smell very bad.
There's an overgrown small field behind where I live. Hopefully in time it will turn into a small natural woods. Already I've noticed a differance in birds and butterflies. We also get many bats flying over head as well.
