The true sign of spring was found this morning. A new family of Canada Geese are starting to learn about Brady Lake. I had seen some posting further south but now the goslings are in my area. Proud papa on the left is keeping guard with his head held high.
Mom was really attentive to the little ones. The goslings are learning "Excuse me Mom, I didn't see you standing there.
The little guy on the right is so cute. It looks like they see something interesting outside the frame. This is actually a different family. I saw four families total at three different bodies of water. Michele, I hope you enjoy an early look.
If you would have asked if we ever get Great White Egrets in our area I would have had to say absolutely (NO). So why at this pond did I see three Great White Egrets this morning? I guess I'm much more observant because of blogging and photography.

I always love shots of mothers with their new broods. You captured some great family geese shots.
ReplyDeleteThe little geese families are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family portraits! I love these fuzzy dudes and dudettes.
ReplyDeleteAnd the egret--spectacular!

The Goose family is cute indeed.I agree with you that when you have a camera you see more things and perhaps in a different way.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
You don't see Great White Egret too often - I don't have Canada Geese down here! :)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm glad you got to see these guys! :)
Cheers, Klaus

I love the litte fuzzy things!
ReplyDeleteMakes me wish we had a pond here on the farm.
Nice Tom- Keep an eye on that egret, it is probably migrating through, but you never know. Go up to the marshes of western lake Erie and you'll see dozens of these beautiful birds.

ReplyDeleteI will miss a lot of these new family geese times as I have other plans in the following weeks and I am sad but I am looking to you to keep me updated on the geese with your amazing photos.
Thank you so much and many hugs to you and your family.♥
What a wonderful family of geese. Your photos are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun to watch the new creatures learn. I agree, the camera helps me see.
ReplyDeleteIt's true, I think we look harder at nature when a camera is at the ready.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the geese and goslings!

Great shots of the little feathered friends! Glad your area is getting on with Spring.
ReplyDeleteThat's right out of the book the ugly duckling ... although none of them looked ugly per say. And yes, that is a classic sign.
ReplyDeleteI love the little goslings. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah to blogging and photograghy!
ReplyDeleteLove the chick shots...so precious, we take peanut to a local tracker store to see them in the spring, but I think it is more exciting to see them in the wild. Great post, your world is so neat. :)
Nature Lovin'
These guys are adorable!
ReplyDeleteFishing Guy, these are nice images of that beautiful family! The little babes are so pretty! You are right: having a camera gives you a greater appreciation of nature and gernerally of all the things around.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this beautiful moments of that family geese. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I love your pictures! You get so close to the real life. I really appreciate your blog. When we photogrph, or paint, we look at things more closely, absorb more details.
ReplyDeleteave great day and week!
Tom, these are wonderful photos. I love the first one with the reflection. And you are right, when you have a camera you just seem to be more aware of your surroundings. Thanks for sharing these little fuzz balls with us.
ReplyDeleteSmiles and blessings
My goslings were born 2 weeks ago! It is always my favorite event of the year! You've captured some great shots of the little ones!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the little gosslings. They are so cute.
ReplyDeleteLove those babies...great shots!
ReplyDeleteFG, great photos and great comment on how a camera makes you much more observant. We gave each of our daughters cameras when they were little and it helped develop their art eye. On a trip they would photograph the same scene but from two feet closer to the ground. That was interesting. I love those baby Canada geese but they sure create a stink by the ponds on our golf course. And our house has been hit with you know what on some of their flyovers from one pond to another.
ReplyDeleteHiya FG, family outing is nice ;D
ReplyDeleteSo sweet-and perfect for this spring week of Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful look at the baby goslings. I can't get enough of how cute they are :-) Your close-ups and the way you frame them really make them look great. 3 egrets..wow. I never see any of those here.
ReplyDeleteGreat series. Love the shots with the little guys. Nice work. Blue Skies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely family of Geese. Haven't seen any babies around here yet. The egret is a lovely capture too.
ReplyDeleteLovely lake shot... and especially like that white egret..
ReplyDeleteHow special, to have all this going on around you! Great shooting!
ReplyDeleteI agree we are more observant when we are looking for things to put on our blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice goose family and the beautiful egret, well spotted.
Nice pictures - the goslings are cute as.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are so sweet, FG! We've got several nesting pairs at the various retaining ponds in the neighborhood. The landscaping crew has even left the grass uncut in these large areas so as not to disturb them. I've not been able to get any photos, though. Yours are just wonderful!!
