The Silver Maple in my back yard had to come down so a tree cutter from the neighborhood took it down. He did a great job with no damage to any property. My garden will get full Sun for the first time in many a year. I planted the tree from a sapling 37 years ago. I had been to my daughters house for family night and when I got home it was partially down.
It didn't take long and the work proceeded quickly.
He would spring from limb to limb as he came down the tree. Every cut was controlled until he got low enough to direct the cut.
The final cuts were free to fall to the ground.
Sometimes they required a little push. It was getting dark and he had to come the next day to finish.

It is amazing how they flow through the tree so effortlessly when working. I love to watch them through the cracks in my fingers!

ReplyDeleteTom, To me, that's one of the scariest jobs one can have. That guy did a great job getting that big tree down. Why did it have to come down????

ReplyDeleteThey scare the HECK out of me! I swear the one who cut our tree down was swinging from limb to limb on a rope harness, and all the while the chain saw in his hand was sawing away! Amazing he didn't cut his other arm off!
