The header theme this week by Mac from England is "ICE". Mac,Tom, Darla and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. Go to the other sites to see their interpretation of this weeks theme.
I have had a lot of ice hanging from my roof line. It does cause some problems.
It can build up as all the snow on the roof melts.
The little stream down the road is open but has ice on the banks.

The photo of the "Mallards On Ice" I liked best became my favorite and became my header.

Nice to see the ducks making out OK.... I recall watching them land on ice a few years back. I could not help but laugh at how they managed it, even though some tippled over they all shook themselves and carried on as normal...
ReplyDeleteGreat looking header and fantastic icicles.
Great one Tom.
ReplyDeletethat Male Mallard just pops right off of your header!!
ReplyDeleteGlad the mallards can stand the ice. Great header. Looks like your icicles could be dangerous.
ReplyDeleteHope you took some breadcrumbs to give them, as they look quite hungry.
ReplyDeleteThe different headers are fun to see. I like yours for the ducks. Great photos of the icicles, too
ReplyDeleteLove it Tom.... That is so neat of the Mallards on Ice... LOVE IT ....
ReplyDeleteGood Luck... This is a great post.

Oohhh it must be soo cold at your house to have all those stalactites hanging from the roof.
ReplyDeleteNice Mallards don't seem to mind the ice in the water.
Makes me want to grab an icicle and crunch away!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what keeps those ducks from freezing in that cold water!
The header is a beautiful picture.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
Ever since I was a little kid, I liked icicles; they're just ducky!
ReplyDeleteI like your header -- the ducks and the ice are beautiful. Good job.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the 1st and second photo makes me Brrrrrrrrrrrrr....so cold!
ReplyDeleteYour header is beautiful. I wonder how the mallards bear the coldness. Whew! it must be freezing cold.
Poor little ducks! :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot!!
Just be careful with those ice cycles, they can be dangerous when falling. We have them too. Anna :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the mallards Tom. I had to look closely as I thought their little feet were frozen into the lake.
ReplyDeleteNice header!
ReplyDeleteWinter provides lots of interesting things to be taking photographs of, Mallards on ice is a sweet image.
ReplyDeleteIcicles are magical to me (but I do know most ice causes problems:( ).
