The other day while down near the new bridge I saw the sun coming through the haze. I could see the top of the grain silos so I took a photo.
I went down the road and took another photo of the silos from below. It is amazing that this same sky showed so different from the angle of the shot.
Angles always seem to show a new depth and dimension to photographs don't they? Great shots!
ReplyDeleteNice silhouttes in the top one. Oh, I love silos - when we were house hunting, we visiting one which was a converted old factory with silos attached. The silos were the rooms - was interesting having round rooms. Kinda echo-y..

Looks like the haze turned bluer in the second shot. I so remember those silos from the midwest. Nice captures Tom.

ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Its strange how common grain towers have become. I don't know about Ohio but here in Oklahoma they are not really used any more.

ReplyDeleteI also like the grain elevator picture. Concrete. Most of them here are made from sheets of corrugated steel which look very nice when new but you know how rust works.

I think I see a halo around that sun. I know that it is a local atmospheric event, but when I see it like that, it looks like a concussion emanating all the way from our star out there. Imagine what kind of power it would take to generate such a huge wake!

Lots of fish died here from the freeze in early January (you probably heard). Nobody has ever seen anything like it (since 1989 at least, or was it 81). It doesn't freeze down here often, but this was a whopper.

We've had the same kind of skies that you've had over the past few days. Although I don't think the sun has mamaged to break through at all. I like the difference in the sky as you changed positions.
