These are the three Robins when I got there in the nest. They were really crowded and the one on the right needed to have fledged.
You can see its size when compared to the others.
The mom and dad kept bringing them food throughout the evening. It was a rainy evening and morning.
This is a view the next morning and one had fledged earlier and the other was getting brave. He did leave the ledge a short time later. The last robin chick will leave real soon.
I found him on the ground and he flew to the water fountain to get his bearings.
He is a strong looking bird and should do fine.
Oh what great pictures, Tom.... Our Northern Flickers won't let us anywhere near those babies. Today, one of the birds HISSED at George. He backed up very quickly... ha ha

ReplyDeleteLol..I just adore the pictures of baby hugey in the nest with his siblings!! Some of these baby birds outweigh their parents 2 to 1!! What a great series of pictures..you really did a great job capturing all the action. You are right, they looked really healthy and ready to see the world!!

ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see the robins and what they seem to do best. Make a nest and fill it with life. I really think they are excellent at what they do. These photos prove that and the photos are very nice too.

Oh, Tom...these are excellent! How neat to watch them fledge. That one is a little piggish...maybe Mom should have given him a shove :-)
