Today I would like to offer you a spring flower you may not have knowledge of, my Ohio Buckeye Tree.
This is my favorite bee photo on the bloom and if you click on it you can see the orange from the flower through the bee's wing.
This are the buckeyes growing on the tree and soon the squirrels will have a meal and a nut to bury for later. I end up with a lot of little buckeye trees in the Spring from the squirrels hiding the nuts and leaving them for the next year.
I do hope you enjoyed the Ohio Buckeye Tree from my front yard.
So that's what a Buckeye is! Or should I say a buckeye, and a Buckeye is that winning team?
ReplyDeleteNice to see something spring-like, as we move into September soon.
I've only heard about buckeye trees -- and of course, eaten the candy of the same name :O)

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful tree FG..I have enjoyed seeing it through the different seasons.. and in answer to your query re our seasons and it is the first day of spring today.. so our Summer begins on the 1st Dec etc.. :D
ReplyDeleteCome to Ohio to see
ReplyDeleteBuckeyes thicker than flies
Many kinds you will see
One is a nice green tree
That grows up to the skies
With blossoms for a bee
One is a football team
Scoring touchdowns way high
And winning with a scheme
One is a wild fan club base
When red and white colors fly
All Ohioans keeps pace
Here's to all the buckeyes
Columbus is the place
Let football fly her skies
And when the game is done
And buckeye leaves do fall
The Bucks are number one
Fishing Guy, my poetic skills don't match yours but I gave it the old college try. And thanks for stopping by.
What are you going to do with all those Buckeyes? LOL I get one every year from the park and eventually carry it around and then it disappears.
ReplyDeleteYour buckeye photograph is really a good one. I have enjoyed my visit here today.
My flower is posted at > Thunder Maker
I thought when I saw it that it looked like a chestnut tree as well. I have heard about Buckeyes but have never seen them before! DO the squirrels eat them the way they do the chestnuts? Nice shot of the bee as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! The bee is very great! And the flowers are pretty!
ReplyDeleteNever seen a plant like that, cool photos!
ReplyDeleteI definitely enjoyed the Buckeye photos! Nice shots, especially the one of the bee! :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Fishing guy,
ReplyDeleteI have one of those trees in the school grounds! always wondered what it was. Were you captures taken at differnt times of the year, or does the tree flower and fruit at the same time?
Funny ...
ReplyDeleteI could swear that had already reviewed here ...
I think I was distracted with perereca (frog) of yours glass. :)
Have a great week
Hi Fishing Guy, enjoyed these very cool photos. I especially enjoyed the bee photo. Incredible to see all the detail in the enlarged one. Great photos and I enjoyed coming to your site.
ReplyDeleteThis is great. My son-in-law is from Ohio, he would love this.
ReplyDeleteSuper neat bee! Love the buckeye. Last school year the girls helped plant a Buckeye on their campus in memory of a teacher who was original from Ohio. I'm not sure if they can do well this far South-do you know? The tree doesn't look very good-but that could be because of the drought.
ReplyDeleteFG I really like the bee photo. Very nice post.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Good job! Like the Bumble Bee!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
Add me to the list of people who have never seen a buckeye tree. It has beautiful blooms. Love the bee shot.
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the flowers too, very beautiful...

ReplyDeleteGreat photos, we don't have buckeye trees here, but of course I've heard of them. That is a great bee shot, too.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to join this meme, but I'm not completely certain of the rules for it.
ReplyDeleteWe had a Buckeye tree too... of course. In fact, we brought one that we had transplanted with us when we moved, but I don't think it made it :-(
