Sky Watch Friday #36

Sky Watch Friday is doing really well. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were over 300 people last week with beautiful Sky photos. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post.

I would like to thanks all those fellow Sky Watchers for their understanding while I go through this recovery process. Life has changed in a couple of ways since the heart stint. Some for the better for sure when I think of the options.

Here is another shot of the sky from Brandywine Falls. It certainly was a fun place to get photos.
I loved the look of this sky. There are just a number of special elements in the sky. I love the bottom of the low cloud. I don't like wires but didn't want to give up the sky and sun.
This was taken this week on one of my walks. The plane was coming down and heading for the Cleveland Airport. The temperatures went into the 60's F for two days and now are back in the 40's F for a high. Ohio weather is unstable at the end of Winter.
Go to the site above to see some other great skies.

Wednesday Potpourri of Birds

There were 400 Mallard Ducks at this flooded corn field one day. These two Canada Geese came in for a landing behind them. Mister Blue Jay decided to land on the deck railing.
I know it's a rear shot of the American Robin through the branches but I liked the effect.
I took my grandson to the orthodontist and got this shot at a little pond. The Mallard Ducks have really bright orange legs.
This is a Mourning Dove in a Birch Tree. I thought it came out neat. He kept looking back at me.
My walks get me close to a lot of birds, this gives me the chance to share them. I do love nature and always have. The camera has made me much more observant.

What Is It - Final

What Is It Answer - The idea of a tree wasn't so bad but it is actually a knot in a plank from a walkway at Brandywine Falls. I used the macro lens to shoot straight down thru the hole. It was made from real Womanized Wood so it is treated but the knot has popped out. If you look closely you can see the knot in the third board from the bottom.
This is a view of the walkway from the other side of the gorge. You can see the lower viewing platform.
I'm sharing the story of the falls that was posted along the walkway. You can click on it to read it.
Here are some of the layers of rock that the description of the falls talks.
This is another shot of the falls with the lower walkway shown just before I went down to capture the falls.
Sorry it was too tricky, the macro on my camera does a nice job on close-ups.

What Is It XVII - Continued

Since no-one is getting very close I thought the complete opening would help. The photo turned 90 degrees for some reason.
Does this help any. Think of where I was this week.

What Is It - XVII

What Is It - This could be easy or hard dependent on what you see. Don't read too much into it.

I will give you an answer tomorrow morning.

Update on my health condition:

The doctors visit went fairly well. I ended up getting an ultrasound on my leg because I have a bump/clot in my veins in the upper calf. The technician didn't think there were any problems but we will see what the doctors says. I went out walking for an hour today and got a little tired.

A few days back I saw some Mallard Ducks on a little stream and tried shooting them trough some small trees.
There were several there so I had fun with them. These two came out into the open.
I do enjoy reflection shots so I felt these came out well. Can you see the female behind?

My World #22

This is my posting for the My World meme . It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were over 120 people showing their worlds to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.

This last week I shared for Sky Watch my trip to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to visit Brandywine Falls. There is a large gorge cut by Brandywine Creek as it heads for the Cuyahoga River. I like the look of this large stone island as I walked to the falls.
This is my first glimpse of the falls through the rocks. It had rained 2.5" for the two days previous so the falls was running at peak flow.
The mist from the falls pointed the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
So, here is that pot of gold - Brandywine Falls - in all it's natural beauty. The walkway can take you in closely to the falls. I loved the show of power from the lower deck.
I went to the other side of the river for a photo then took the easy way back to the car. That was lucky because that is where I got the neat shots of the sky though the pines.
Try to visit the other views of the world it's worth the trip.
