Wednesday Potpourri # 5 and an Award

My Wednesday Potpourri will consist of shots that I have taken in my back yard over the Summer and Fall.

This is a dragonfly from two weeks ago. I was cutting the grass and it landed on my block for a rest. I never disturbed it as I took some shots. I tried to look up the type but was not successful. It had an unusual color with some red in the brown. Check out the little spider to the bottom right.
It had an unusual tail so I thought it was some type of a club tail. It was an Autumn Meadowhawk, Tom of Ohio Nature let me know.
Mr. and Mrs. Bunny grazed in my yard one day in the Summer.
This bunny was by the garden eating a dandelion. It is near my fish cleaning bench.
The final animal was my nemesis the Groundhog. I was lucky and they never broke through my fence this year. This was in the Fall and the tomatoes were done. I do hope you enjoyed my photo journey through the back yard.

I received this award from Chrissy's photo blog this past week. She does the Meme's that I participate in so we have gotten to enjoy each others sites. I think it is a neat award.
1. Put the logo on your blog
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you
3. Nominate other blogs for this award (it said 10 but I don't think that quantity is as important as quality).
4. Add links to those blogs
5. Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs
6. Give a reason why you consider their blogs cool.
I am passing it on to the following cool blogs.

Congrats on the award!
Really like the bunny photos.
Seems funny to see the lush green knowing you have so much snow - a nice reminder of what was.

Congrats on the award, FG...

I will say that it brought back memories when you showed the pictures of those rabbits. There were a couple of rabbits this summer that drove us crazy because they ate our Impatiens.. We did all kinds of things to deter them--but they kept coming back for more. NOT FUN!!!!! So---please keep your bunnies with you!!!! ha ha

thata's a neat trip down memory lane. Love the bunnies, used to have one that was litter box trained in the house. Cool Groundhog! Congrats on the Award.

Congratulations!

With all those rabbits and a groundhog, it's amazing that you get anything from your garden.

I loved all the photographs.

Love the bunnies-and ground hogs are sooo adorable even though they can be destructive to our gardens.

Congrats on the award!!

I hope you find out what the dragonfly is. I watched one all summer that would never land...very large and looked like it had a double hump or something...maybe this is a similar kind and I'll learn something. I love your bunnies :-) We used to have bunnies all the time, but now I seldom see one. Great Groundhog shot!

Marvelous pictures. I think the award was well-deserved.

By the way, I also like your favorite songs. Betsy and I saw Chuck Wick, Rodney Adkins and Brad Paisley in concert earlier this year. It was great!!!

Fg,
Congratulations on your award. You certainly deserve it as you participate in many memes and have been very encourging to me as I have started to wade my way through the world of blogging. You introduced me to Skywatch Friday and Camera Critters which I have had so much fun being a part of each week. Thank you for thinking of me when passing on these awards! Love your rabbit photos! You can hold on the ground hogs...just send me those black squirrels! lol

Hi Tom- This is most likely an autumn aka yellow legged meadowhawk. They readily land on people. I'm not sure why this individual's abdomen is "bulbous" or clubbed like you have noticed!

Congrats on the award!
I looked up Yellow-legged Meadowhawk after Tom'
s verdict and it structurally looks a lot like that when I checked the available literature.

Thanks for dropping by in my blog.
Have a great weekend!
