The theme this week by me is "Orange". Mac, Chris,Kathy, Gail and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.
This has so many ways to go with the color orange. It should be interesting what is shown. I decided to use the orange buoys at Lake Hodgson. It combines the color orange with some great fishing birds. I started with the Great Blue Heron an the big Orange buoy.
Here is a smaller set of Orange and white buoys with the birds all around.
This is a Ring Billed Seagull on the medium Orange buoy.
This is a Double Crested Cormorant on the big Orange buoy.
Here he is taking off from the buoy just like running on the water.
I chose this Double Crested Cormorant drying on the big Orange buoy. He is a fancy bird for certain.

The theme this week by Mac is "Down and Out". Mac, Chris,Kathy, Gail and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that. If anyone wants to join please contact Mac or myself. Chris's wife Gail has joined the group.
This was a tough theme fo me. I had a problem with what to show. Here are some Down and Out views of the area. This is low cost family housing near my house. There are 24 families or more in these three buildings.
There is no yard at this house.
This is an older overgrown housing.
They certainly can't take care of this place.
I decided that this business that is Down and Out as my header. Goodbye to this business as it is bulldozed down and out of sight.

This week I thought I would show the advertising from Kent State University in my home town. I went around the university and took different photos. this is the library with construction in the front of the Student Center and MAC Center.
The Rec center has some neat advertising.
This is a college for students.
These are the two water towers.
One of the towers.
What I chose is a KSU sign with art behind at the road entrance.

This weeks theme is something I enjoy. I wanted to show a few photos of some of my favorite places to get food. Here is great Italian place in North Canton called Carrabas. My grandson order a pizza and we were sitting at the pizza bar so we were able to see it being done. Here is the pizza being tossed.
Load it up with the toppings.
They cook the pizza in a wood fired oven.
It sure was tasty.

The theme this week by me is "Tree-s, What is it and why did you choose it." Mac, Gail's Man,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that. If anyone wants to join please contact Mac or myself.
This is a subject I really enjoy sharing. Thirty years ago I planted this tree in my front yard which is an Ohio Buckeye Tree. I choose it because of the following reasons:
1 The Ohio Buckeye is the symbol of The Ohio State University.
2 I have always love these type of trees.
3 My neighbor, when I was a child, had a similar tree. That was a Horse Chestnut that we had a lot of fun climbing and using the nuts for stringing three and throwing as a bolo.
4 My tree is very prolific and it nuts produce baby trees every year.
5 It is a slow growing tree that makes a beautiful show every year.
It is in blossom at this time of Spring.
The bees love to collect the nectar and pose for you.
I enjoy capturing them with my camera.
My header is a full view of the tree. It has grown into a real beauty.

The theme this week by Gail's Man is "Nurses and Doctors". Mac, Gail's Man,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that. If anyone wants to join please contact Mac or myself.
Timing was really good on this subject. I had to go get a blood test and I had a doctors visit with my heart doctor. I was able to get photos from both to go with the post. Here is a sign at the blood testing facility where the nurses work.
This is the nurse that took the blood.
I then went to my primary doctors to schedule a visit. His nurse Amanda allowed me to get a photo.
Later in the day I went to see Doctor Sliek who put the stint in my heart. His office is located at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
His nurse Jim was willing to pose for a photo.
I chose Doctor Sliek as my header. He did a terrific job on the heart operation.
