Today's Flowers # 51

My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 4 GMT is the post time.

Today I would like to show you the beauty of the wild flowers of this area of the country. I will identify them if I know them. I'm not sure what this one is. It grows wild in my yard. This is Queen Anne's Lace.
This is a wild Daisey.
This is a very little flower that is called a Orange Jewel Weed (Impatiens capensis) thanks to Tom Arbour and Digital Flower Pictures. This is the flower and berry from a wild Cranberry.
You can see a lot of neat flowers at the above site.

I would like to share something special I saw on "America's Got Talent". There was a good ole boy from Mayfield, Kentucky named Kevin Skinner who sang a Garth Brooks song. Take a listen to his performance.

My World # 40

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive.

I made a trip to Nashville with the wife and stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. This is one of the indoor garden areas called the Cascades. Check out the dual waterfalls.
The flowers abound throughout the hotel. It is located next to Opryland.
We opted out on Opryland this time because the wife found a show the same night at the Loveless Barn. It is located next to the famous Loveless Cafe. Steve Wariner was doing a tribute to Chet Atkins. We had supper with the band (well, one table over). The guy on the left side is Steve's brother.
The show was wonderful and Steve is an accomplished guitar player. He sang and wrote "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" and "I'm Already Taken".
It was a neat tribute to Chet Adkins and the money went to his scholarship fund.
Ray Stevens of "The Streak" fame was there because he was a friend of Chet's.
The trip home was spiced up by visiting with George and Betsy Adams, friends and fellow bloggers. Yes, you do make friends while blogging. Check out Betsy's great write up of the meeting on her blog.
You can see some neat parts of the world by visiting other parts of My World.

Toby Keith Concert

Toby Keith Concert came to Blossom Music Center with great fanfare. Toby is loved by the gents as well as the girls. There was a crowd of 22,00 for the show, not bad considering it rained from Thursday until Saturday at 2:00 PM with the 7:30 PM start of the show. There was one addiction from all the rain to the lawn. One section of the lawn became a slip and slide and anyone wearing flip-flops fell. Check out the back of this girl, she was one of 30 who fell and almost everyone had flip-flops on.
This is an example of the guys who were there in groups to see Montgomery Gentry and Toby. Yes, they were having a good time.
There were some short opening acts from Toby's label Show Dog Records and then Montgomery Gentry, We saw them a few years back when Blake Shelton opened for them.
They put on a light show with a lot of their hits and got the crowd warmed up for Toby.
It was with a lot of fanfare and glitter that Toby hit the stage.
He is a big guy but the pulled down cowboy hat makes it hard to capture. He strolled out to the stage amidst a screaming crowd.
Here is another well planned show with all the bells and whistles.
He can sing a balad, so it kept the crowd excited during the show.
He had a big screen behind and here he is looking back to the screen.
The Country Concert Season is over at Blossom and it was a good one. A wet field for this one but we took a plastic tarp and sat on it. There was the rain at Brad's concert but we didn't get to wet. All in all it was a fun series.

Favorite Restaurant

Our favorite restaurant for a good meal at a reasonable price is The Texas Roadhouse. We have always received good service and meals at a reasonable price. It doesn't hurt they play country music since they are originated in Texas. We always go there before a country concert. The decor is quite Texan with fish and deer heads on the wall. They also have a buffalo and moose head.
They decorate it to the local, here is Jack Lambert a famous Pittsburgh Steelers from the championship years who was a standout player at Kent State University.
The KSU and Akron University Basketball teams are honored.
We do go there a least once a week and the manager, Harry Curtis, knows us by name.
There is usually a line dance to spice up the evening and also several birthday celebrations during most nights.
Good prices, good service and excellent food. My wife likes the Fillet and I usually go for the Double Pork Chops. It comes with a salad and your choice of potato with other options. I always take one Pork Chop and part of a potato home for lunch/supper the next day. You also get all the shelled peanuts you want while waiting for your meal.

Brad Paisley Concert

It was last Friday and the fourth Blossom Music Center country concert took place. We had wonderful weather all through this concert series so when they said a 30% chance of rain I felt safe. It did rain a little as you can see from the crowd and the rain parkas. My wife toughed it out and we stayed. Julianne Hough, from 'Dancing with the Stars' fame opened up the concert. She sounded and looked good it was a good start. Julianne went out on the stage and excited the crowd.
She is a class act and did a great job.
Chuck Wicks another new face to country music was next. His 'Stealing Cinderella' is a big song for him now.
There is a love interest between him and Julianne.
The next act was Jewel. Now this is one act I don't get, she is supposed to warm up the crowd for Brad which didn't work.
She looked good and sounded bad. She yodeled for her departing shot, I was extremely glad the pain was over.
Brad was next on stage. As expected the whole atmosphere changed.
The background was much better and the dark helps my camera.
He did his latest 'Waitin on a Woman' with the new video. It features Andy Griffith as the old man.
He then did a song with a video from the latest WII game Guitar Hero with Taylor Swift challenging Little Jimmy Dickens. Derks Bentley even plays the armature singer on the game.

Brad puts on a good show and it's a lot of fun a action. He played another video from WII on 'Catch Me if You Can' which was fun. Brad is a class act and catch him if you can.

The Country Concert of the Year

Who went to the biggest concert ever performed at Blossom Music Center. Why it's Fishing Guy with the Mrs. along with Brian and his wife Angie. Brian works with me in PA. There was a record crowd for the concert, Blossom was sold out at 23,500 people.
The opening act is one of the up and coming acts in country music. Taylor Swift a 18 year old phenom that has sold so many copies of her first album it has been #1 several times as people get to know her. I bought the CD on its release week.
She sang her favorite songs from the first CD.
She was even overwhelmed by all the cheering. This is awe on her face for the crowds reaction.
The sun went down and the crowd lit up.
The stage was then transformed to the Rascal Flatts show.
Gary LeVox was in good voice as he took the lead on most songs.
The stage was alight with the setup for the show.
They used the big screens to there best as the darkness enveloped the stage.
It was a mixture of old and new songs for the group.
There were too many people in the venue. There was a crush just trying to get out when we left a little early.
