My World # 25

This is my posting for the My World meme . It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were over 120 people showing their worlds to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.

The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of the places you can go to see the Erie Canal and understand how the locks were used to get you from Lake Erie to Akron. There was a sign for lock # 26 on the canal which I visited. You can get the idea of a locks usage by clicking on the photo. It is set up like a lot of little dams which allowed you to go upstream/uphill one lock at a time.
This is looking at the gate which would have kept the water at the proper level.
This is looking downstream as the canal basin moves on. There is a Beaver dam just beyond this point. This is a neat sky but the wind was a little chilly. There is a bike and walk trail beside the canal.
My Daughter and I were returning to Kent after visiting the park where we saw a Great Blue Heron rookery, turtles, geese, ducks and turtles. This was on the way home and there were five deer feeding at 1:30 PM, one was in the woods. Amazingly they only left after I stopped the car for photos.
Have fun visiting the places around the world.
