I am moving away from Kent for one week to go 20 miles to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. This is the entrance off the main road George Halas Drive.
There is a historic marker in the parking lot.
This is a look of the building from there.
This is the main entrance of the building with the unusual domed roof which you can see from Interstate 77 in Canton.
In the foyer there is a full size statue of Jim Thorpe. It turned sideways on me for some reason. I took this from the ramp to the second floor.
This is what it is all about; The Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Then there are the Super Bowl Rings and a display of all of them. I'm bias toward the Pittsburgh Steelers which can be told by my photos.
It starts out with a look at the beginning's of football such as this uniform which could have inspired George Lucas for Star Wars.
These are some of the helmets over the years.
There is a bronze bust of all the inductees. Arguably the best quarterback ever Terry Bradshaw. He won four super Bowl Rings.
Here is Bill Cower on a theater which has two screens and turns you 180 degrees from one to the other.
Each team was honored with their record of accomplishments. Gerome Bettis was honored here. Thanks to Mojo for the correction.
Part of the steel curtain was Mean Joe Green.
They had several players enshrined with there own locker area.
There was a section of war honorees but none was more moving then Pat Tillman. He gave his life in Afghanistan defending his country. He volunteered to leave his football career to serve.
There is no way to show you everything but if you are a football enthusiast you can spend most of the day wondering through the displays, watching the films and checking out the gift shops. Go and visit some other fun world displays.
Here is another area that has both the green and white lichen.
I think the fungus has an interesting pattern.
The final shot from the tree is a branch that I had trimmed previously.
The final thing I wanted to show was a floating log that had been drug off the fishing lake. I think it adds to the look in my Hostas and Sedum bed.
There is a reason I was drawn to this log because of its size and character. It kind of has a bull look at this end with the two horns.
The deck has a nice coating of snow.
The back yard is nicely decorated. As you can see it was snowing as i took the photo and the window has some big snow flakes attached.
The weather being so up and down caused some large ice cycles on the roof of the house. This is the South side of the house and a bright Sun can cause melting and refreezing.
Check out the pink skies at sunset putting on a show.
Tonight I sit with an ice storm outside and there is black ice everywhere. The Interstate Highway 77 that I went to Canton on is shut down to traffic and there have already been four fatalities in Ohio tonight. Ice is way worse then snow to drive on and the state is getting hit hard. We will have to see what the morning brings.

This one has one petal at the end but is still lovely.

This is for Abe Lincoln and I wish him the best of health. He has a wonderful bird site. I am offering him my favorite bird the Great Blue Heron in a reflective shot from Lake Hodgson.
