My World # 39

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'. I will be travelling today and will get back to you as soon as I can.

The July 4Th celebration is full of traditions. We go to the Stow, Ohio parade every year. My wife and I get there 2 hours early to get prime seating. The parade lasts about two hours. The parade always opens up with a military honor guard.
This was the neatest car in the dignitary section.
The Stow Band performed and there was some flipping going on.
This is the police honor guard with the Ohio flag flying with Old Glory.
This was the neatest custom car in the parade. Click on it and give it a once over.
The rest of the day was quite busy. We had our annual Applebee's luncheon with the grandchildren. Kent has a festival with lots of vendors and entertainment. Bobbie, our friend, had a picnic for family and us, the "adopted family". Kent had fireworks in the evening. It was a long day of partying. We had one day to wind down before vacation.

My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 4 GMT is the post time. I will be leaving on vacation tomorrow morning and will try to visit when I get back.

I have posted flowers in honor of our Independence Day Weekend. The first is a Red Lilly from a friends garden. I think it is called Starburst.
The second is a White Peony from my garden.
The third is a Blue Clematis from a friends garden.
I do hope all in the USA are having a great celebration.

Sky Watch Friday # 51

Sky Watch Friday is doing really well. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were a lot of people with beautiful Sky photos. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post.

Sit with me at the dock as I watch the sky explode on Tappan Lake. I was on the dock at 5:15 to see the sky light up. The day broke cloudy and dark in the East.
A half hour later it started to change.
The sky was showing off with some colorful clouds.
The Sun is still behind the hills. This part of Ohio is in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
The sky continued to brighten as the sun tried to peek over the trees.
There it is as it starts it beautiful climb.
It is now over the top of the trees and the orb is reflecting on the water.

Fibonacci poem (1-1-2-3-5-8) of the sunrise that stirred a feeling with-in.
Observing
nature
beauty abounds
darkness to light
from sun down to earth
brightness comes to us for another lovely day.

Wednesday Potpourri - American Robins

I was at my son's house and they had American Robins nesting on the side of the deck.

These are the three Robins when I got there in the nest. They were really crowded and the one on the right needed to have fledged.
You can see its size when compared to the others.
The mom and dad kept bringing them food throughout the evening. It was a rainy evening and morning.
This is a view the next morning and one had fledged earlier and the other was getting brave. He did leave the ledge a short time later. The last robin chick will leave real soon.
I found him on the ground and he flew to the water fountain to get his bearings.
He is a strong looking bird and should do fine.

What Is It - XXII Answers & An Award

#1 is a drain cover made from diamond pattern steel plate. There were a lot of great guesses on this one. Craver definitely had the idea with automotive steel but Craig came through with diamond plate. Craver had a neat experience going back old school without power. Craig has a White Peacock Butterfly on his site. I have passed you an award below.
#2 Is a hanging wind mobile. This one I thought no-one would get until my 9 year old grandson got it in in 30 seconds. Darla had two guesses but hit it correctly. She has her garden blooming with wonderful flowers but she just had a bad rain. Check below for the award.
