Fun Photo Friday - From the Neighborhood

I thought I would show some fun shots I got in my area. My wife bought me a bird feeder because of my love of birds or should I say squirrel feeder. The squirrels seem to have adopted the feeder and are having some fun. I first had it near the deck but they would jump on the feeder from the deck. I moved it away so now they climb the pole and get on. This is one of the area Black Squirrels checking it out. This is a simple move for him, oh my aching back.
The Gray Squirrels are often here also taking a snack break. "Let's see, if I hang on with the back feet I can eat in comfort".
I have had a few real birds come to the feeder such as this female Cardinal. She giving me that "What are you looking at?" expression.
Here is another one that seemed to be having a bad hair day.
This is just down the street I found this. It is where a Chipmunk thinks the water drain is his personal hiding place.
These were some neighborhood fun shots this week. I hope you enjoyed the show.

Those pesky squirrels.Something I have done is to put a slinky toy around the pole. When the squirrels jump onto it it bounces and they leave.I attached it at the top and let it hang down.Just a thought.

I guess I'm the lucky one since my squirrels (SO FAR) don't come to our feeders. I see squirrels constantly in my yard ---but they stay in the yard... I think it's because we had such a great mast crop this past fall. The squirrels had/have plenty of those nuts!!!!

For us, it's chipmunks. They are the problem.Such a nuisance. They do come to the deck and feeders---if they can get to them...Grrrrrrr!!!

Great new bird feeder... I love it. Hope you can get is far enough away so that the squirrels can't get on it.

Have a wonderful week. I'll post one more time in the morning--but then I'll be gone for about 9 days.

The slinky toy is a great idea~~~

I most definitely did! Great fun with the critters, FG!
Grease up that pole with some Crisco shortening or lard and then watch the show, too.

I am just shocked that you aren't making a huge deal out of the black squirrel you have there!! Wow, he is beautiful. I have yet to see one in the wild.
What a fun show you put on. That 'chippy' certainly took advantage of a get-away-place.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe you caught that chipmunk sticking its head out of the drain - that's an awesome shot & very funny!
Those squirrels are crazy & eating upside down? Jeez!
Really great & cool shots, Tom

I just love all your squirrels, I would take masses of photos of them, but I doubt that I would get any as good as yours. Seems they are very lithe and athletic as well as cute.
Glad you enjoy my music, listen to it anytime, yours is also good.

You certainly have acrobatic squirrels in your neighborhood. I'm sure they appreciate your 'bird' feeder. We'll be glad to send you a few of our chipmunks if you want to see more.

LOL!! No keeping the squirrels away is there? They seem to find a way to the food no matter what one does. :)

I love watching the squirrels and how they hang upside down...or lay all draped over a limb asleep.

Those were fun pictures, especially the little chipmunk. I've never seen a black squirrel before, I guess we don't have them in our parts.
