Camera Critters # 91 - Whitetail Deer

We got quite a bit of snow and the Whitetail Deer are having a harder time in finding food. This one came right up to my feeder near the deck to feed. I was above it in an upstairs window. Until I made major movement it stayed right there.

Can you see her tongue sticking out the side of her mouth?

She even cleaned up what had spilled.

She went right back on top. She learned quite quickly how to tilt the feeder to get some more seeds.

Is that the dog next door barking?

You can see a lot of other great sighting of critters above.

I enjoyed seeing the deer in your yard. Do you ever put salt licks out for them as some of the people here do?

Hi Tom, I always feel sorry for critters when it snows and is so cold. It was about 10 degrees this morning here when we got up--and spitting snow...Our birds were flocking to the feeders to get something to eat.

Great pictures of your deer. She's quite brave--but probably very hungry..

Have a great day.

It is tough times for wildlife when there is snow covering their drinking water or ice. So I am guessing she was happy to find some seeds.

What lovely scenes!
I hope the deer finds enough to eat to survive the winter. We had deer in the woods behind our house in the States. They appreciated when I put my apple peels and the like out for them.

Happy New Years! :-)

We have turkeys that are always grubbing under the feeders. Know these creatures have been doing the seasonal thing for many many seasons, but it doesn't make it any easier to see them "suffer", though that may be my emotion I put on them.

Hello Tom, my friend, it has been some time. I haven't been able to access my emails properly because of some viruses but with some help of a friend, I am able to retrieve some of them.
I am sorry I have not been around and I do hope you and your family is well and that the holiday season has treated you fairly well.
As soon as I can, I will send you an email.

I noticed the deer munching on the bird feeders here as well and the seed bird bells and watched the birds sit by waiting for their turn... when I go to work each morning, I'm greeted by groups of 6 to 12 deer outside of the door... I call them my escort group! =) Every year this happens, it's quite funny.

I want to wish you a Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. Please know I'm thinking about you ALL the time, ok?

Hugs and kisses♥
