This Whitetail Deer was quite comfortable grazing in my son's neighborhood. There were dogs barking and cars driving by but it just kept grazing. It did check me out when I got too close for its comfort. It determined that I and my two grandsons were of no harm.
There was an explosion of a house recently in my sons area and we had gone to see it. When we got back he asked if we had seen the deer in the yard.
I was able to walk close enough to get these photos of the young 6 point buck in velvet.
This shows how close to a shed it was moving. Is that a garden ahead?
See a lot of neat critters above.

Fantastic Tom.
Got some interesting news for you,,
Wow! Not only did you capture the deer well, but also I like the way the trees look. :)
I see apples in that last shot. Perhaps that's what lured him in so close? Fantastic captures, Tom!
Beautiful photographs. The colors on the deer really stand out.
Hard to beat visitors like that. Nice shots.
Love 'em--hate 'em.... They are so pretty --but when they eat our roses (and flowers), we don't like them very much... We haven't ever had much trouble with the deer eating our flowers --since we use Liquid Fence. But--there is one deer around lately --who seems to eat the flowers anyhow (some of them)... Last night, he got some more roses... Drives us crazy!!!!
BUT--they do have to eat... AND they are gorgeous..
Great pictures of the one you saw...

Nice looking urban buck Tom!
Deer are doing well adapting to our dwelling areas as are some other species like coyotes.
Nice buck!
Come see mine:

These are fantastic pictures of the young buck. You did an outstanding job.
My goodness, it seems critters are not as afraid of people as they used to be. It is a bit spooky in a way. I want those dang rabbits to be afraid of me. I've taken to throwing sticks at them.
You got some super photos of the deer!
The buck is after those tasty apples. Now that he has found them, he will be checking daily to catch the first one as they fall. Check out my buck too.

Nice captures!
They are starting to move quite frequently here.
Geez Tom, you got close enough to see the scars on his rump. Didn't realize whitetails are such a ruddy color. Sure is a handsome lad.
hi Tom.. the deer seems to be very relaxed... good pictures here!
Beautiful shots, FG. I also noticed that you could see the felt on the antlers. Looks like he has become accustomed to the city life.
Now those are great shots. I try and try to get a good pic of those white-tails but they have been elusive. Love that you can see the velvet.
well captured fg. hopefully, no lions around :)
So neat to see the velvet that close up!
How beautiful!
Just popping in to see your header and other fun stuff.
Hope all is well. I sure do miss playing along with the headbangers.
*hugs*
Excellent Tom it is so nice to see wildlife that does not run away at the drop of a hat great shots :)
Now it makes me wonder if they are comfortable with people around or is it just the attraction to all the lovely food? :)
Oh such a beautiful creature. What a gift to be able to share space with such a beauty.
What utterly divine and delightful creatures! Great shots.
I love the velvety antlers! Lovely creature!
Wow, you are a patient man. Oh, that's right you fish therefore you wait. Not sure I could suffer the visit, more to do with plants geting eaten though.
