Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.
How could I think about sound creation without remembering our Spring trip crossing the Alps with the Shaker Heights Band. I bring back fond memories of our trip to Europe with a few views of the band creating sound. I start with a town in the foothills of the Alps - Brixen, Italy. This horn was creating a lot of sound as I crept in for the shot.
The trombones were sliding away creating the sound just right.
Can you find a more beautiful scene then from the birthplace of Mozart - Salzburg, Austria. Quite the crowd to hear the band. It was Spring and you could hear the sound of music in the air.
One of my favorite places was Innsbruck, Austria - How I love the tuba. I stood on my head for the shot. Just kidding, but that is me in the yellow shirt.
So I chose a header of the band playing at Innsbruck in the Alps. I love the view from the plaza near the Golden Roof.

I had an idea you would go Brass Band Tom, Really enjoyed going tru your post, I really could hear these sounds in my head, also from a place that I too had visited, which brought back memories.
What a wonderful trip that was for you folks, thanks for the revisit. That is a lot of sound in that header picture! The brass band, the church bells, and wait, wait, I hear it, yep, it's yodeling in the mountain tops!
I can hear the sound bouncing off those awesome Alps.
I was thinking, too, of how the band sound would echo from the Alps. I remember being in the mountains of NH during a thunderstorm. It was awesome hearing the echoing of the thunder as it rolled off the mountains. I would think the band sound would be much the same in the Alps.
Love your photos, I got a new blog up. Have a good week.

That was a reat tip you had! And a marvelous experience for those young musicians! I love the reflection on the horn.
