The theme this week is by Lanny and is "Make Do". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave, Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.
"Make Do" why Lanny is making this contest this week wide open to interpretation. I was thinking of using a photo of the Common Grackles "Making Do" with the feed that had fallen to the ground.
But then I saw this feeder near the deck.
Here was a House Sparrow with comfort on its mind. It was using the feeder as its house.
So I zoomed in to see it had "Made Do" with a warm spot and a bite to eat.

Header Competition Season 2 # 24 "RED"
The theme this week is by me and is "Red". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave, Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We have added Sandy Carlson to our list of players. She is a great photographer from Connecticut. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.
Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.
Red, my what to choose. A RED stop sign?
A RED Pitcher Plant from Triangle Lake in Winter? It traps bugs to eat.
A Red Cardinal on my back deck in Winter plumage. They are so bright in Winter.
A RED Cadillac on the road?
No, we took a trip across Ohio and saw a lot of Red barns. I only had to choose the one. This one had seen better days.
This one was neat with the fresh RED paint.
I finally chose this one for the header. All the barns showed up so well. All the photos from the car on were taken out the window at 70 MPH with my Canon Powershot SX100IS.
See what the other show above.

Retro is the return of the American Robin from the South.
The joining in the Spring of the Canada Geese couples is Retro.
The return of this shed to the earth is Retro in my mind.
What I decided to use for Retro is an old car from the Fourth of July parade.

Header Competition Season 2 # 22 "Friends"
The theme this week is by Mac and is "Friends" Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.
Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.
This is about friends and I made a new one this year. His name is Wally and we fished Lake Hodgson in our own boats. We often fished the same area and I learned much from him. It caused me to change some tactics and I had my best year fishing. The morning moon was just setting in the western sky.
He started to come out earlier in the morning because of the fish I had caught before he hit the water.
He caught this nice Northern Pike during the Summer.
We ended up fishing together in his boat after I had put mine to bed late in the season. These are a few nice Yellow Perch from a day of fishing.
What I decided to show was a photo from Lake Hodgson of Wally in his boat. I love reflections on the water.

Header Competition Season 2 # 21 "To Bake or Not To Bake"
The header theme this week by Dave is "To Bake or Not To Bake". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.
Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.
This weeks theme was tough, thanks Dave. I could have shown Christmas cookies but decided on another baked treat. So I share with you the just opened NY2C (New York to Chicago) Pizza Shop. It is owned by friends of ours and is located in Stow, Ohio at the Giant Eagle Plaza next to Applebee's.
The decor is really cool with the two city theme.
It has some neat graffiti as you come into the shop.
The owners are Kenny (baking) and Nancy Long.
You have your choice of New York thin crust,
or Chicago deep dish.
I chose for my header a look at the baking oven with Ken working with the final touches on the NY pizza.
You can see what the others have shown from the above links.
