"Elections"

The theme this week is "Elections" by Lew.  Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that.

I think we just had one of the most messed up elections ever. We elected man who lied his way to the White House. He will show the people what a mistake they made in a short time in office. He has already made cabinet choices that will benefit the very rich which he complained about during the election. I hope we only have to live with this for 4 years. This may be worse then Brexit. The winner lost the popular vote by 2,000,000 votes but won the election and Trump said the election was rigged. It is, change the election system to the popular vote.

We are going to do recounts in a few states. What a waste of time.
Let's just watch and see how badly this country can be run by billionaires. Let's see how many rules a flawed President Trump can break. He will not follow any rules. He will do what he wants to make himself richer.
I can wait and see what happens but am very afraid of the results.

I did a selfie in my comfortable position.

"Fireworks"

The theme this week is "Fireworks" a general theme.  Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that.

I just had this natural picture of fireworks in the sky.

We are coming into an important time in our country with your right to vote. We have such an important time this election so let's start some fireworks. In my mind the choice is quite clear.

One of the candidates is a racial bigot.
One of the candidates is backed by the KKK.
One of the candidates is backed by the Russians. They also think Putin is a good leader of Russia.
One of the candidates is backed by the NRA which only care about gun sales.
One of the candidates holds women in the lowest regard, because they are rich they can do whatever they want.
One of the candidates has degraded Blacks, Mexicans, Muslims and any member of government who has not backed them, Republicans or Democrat.
One of the candidates has been married three times and openly cheated on his previous spouses.
One of the candidates was not endorsed by any former President who is still alive.
One of the candidates will be on trial next year.
One of the candidates has not paid Federal Taxes for several years and says he is smart for doing it.
One of the candidates has gone bankrupt 4 times stiffing all the suppliers.
One of the candidates has picked fights with POW's and Gold Star parents.
One of the candidates has a foul mouth that is not fit for a child to hear.
One of the candidates is backed, with a campaign run by Breitbart News, which is so far right they are dangerous.

The choice is clear in my mind. I do not want that man to be my President. Never Trump will be my call and I hope he gets beaten badly by a women.

Favorite Animal

The theme this week is "Favorite Animal" by me.  Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that.

I decided to use (big surprise) FISH as my favorite animal. After a dismal Spring things turned around as the weather got hot. I caught two Fish Ohio Award fish on 7-7. I had a great July and here are some of the highlights.
It was a 14" White Crappie and a 11" Regular Bluegill.
I brought home coolers full of fish throughout the Summer.
On 7-12 I caught a 13.5" White Crappie and a 13.25" Black Crappie.
Here is another day 7-27 with two big black Crappies over 13".
Just look at the size of these fish.
I was so happy to catch these in the heat of the Summer.
I caught 3 Small Mouth Bass during the summer. A 17", 19" (shown) and a 15" on my last trip. It was really fun to fight them and return them to the lake. These are new to the lake and growing fat on the shad.

"Colors"

The theme this week is "Colors" by Kathy.  Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that.

I decided to use for my header a view of the last day on Lake Hodgson. I enjoyed the view and the color reflections in the rippling water.
As you can see we are far behind in the leave change this year with some just coming into color.
There are some neat views as the leaves start to get their color.
This is a color change at the entrance to my house.

I thought I would show a fire-pit. I enjoy the dancing flames. It has cooled off a lot in NE Ohio.
This is a decorative flower arrangement my wife made.
What time did I capture this today?
This is a birthday present Rachel made me with all the grand kids names. She was 7 at the time.

We are back from our break, the first one in several years. The theme this week is "Through the Window - Showing Frame" by Mac.  Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

I decided to show some views from the house. After a hot Summer we went right into Fall. The trees are still green out the back looking South from the kitchen.
This is another southern view out the bedroom window.
Here is view out the bedroom window showing the Ohio Buckeye Tree looking North. Most of the leaves are gone.
Another Northern view out the front window. The Sun definitely makes a difference in the direction you are viewing.

I chose a Water Lily on the water as my header.
Here is a pair of Water Lilies in the weed bed.
Here are the way the seagulls and cormorant keep out of the water.
The cormorants sit low in the water while diving for fish.
I was on the water today and caught two Fish Ohio size Crappies. A 13.5 " White Crappie on top and a 13" Black Crappie on the bottom.

I edited last week post to let you know where I was.

The fishing is still going strong. I caught this 15" small mouth bass today from Lake Hodgson. This is the first one for me from the lake. I have caught a lot of large mouth bass but not these. A great fight and released back into the lake.

I had 30 crappie in this cooler. This catch fed 6 adults with a lot of leftovers.
The next day a catch of 20 crappie and a bluegill.
This was 14 crappie and 6 yellow perch. Certainly a good catch and going strong.

I enjoy going to this sign on Tuesday night. You get a big 1/2 pound hamburger and fries for $5. I think they have a cool sign.
There are a lot of signs in the area.
The signs in the bar all have an Ohio theme.
This is an Ohio brewery in Cleveland. The home of the NBA Basketball Champions.
Even the Rocky Mountain beer has an Ohio feel.
