What Is It XI

This could be an easy What Is It or really hard. I found this growing wild in the flower garden.

More Flowers Abloom

The beauty of nature is all around. I have several flowers blooming and some a really neat. This is a double daffodil. The small red leafed tree is also blooming with a pretty pink flower.
Here is a close-up of the flower.
We have a pink tulip that has a wonderful shade of pink.
And the red tulip is in all it's glory.
We were pretty lucky this morning in that it got close to freezing after being in the 70's F for a week. As I was driving to work this morning tiny snow flakes were blowing over the car. We have at least one more cold day. I hope it doesn't hurt the fruit trees that are bloomed.

Birds are in the Area

I have been seeing a lot of different birds in the area. There was a group of Grackle in the back yard. I love the bright blue color on their head. They were a little too far out.
I saw this Mallard Duck swimming on the lake when I went out in the boat.
A found a group of crows in the tree near work.
I tried to get in close but the tree interfered.
The Mourning Doves were mating in the Buckeye Tree in my front yard.
They were giving each other little pecks.
This Canadian Goose was along the road. He walked away but showed up well in the grass.

What Is It X - Final

Here is what my fourth grader chose to use to confuse you. A pewter candle stick. You can click on it to get more detail. It looks like she got her angles from Anna. I'm always commenting on how Anna takes her shots.

Congrats to Gina and Pappy for getting the answer, I think they used the clue.

I tried to give you a little purple from the candle but it didn't help.

What Is It X - 2

Here is some more help or confusion to add to the question. So, what is it?

What Is It X

My youngest Grand Daughter wanted to try a What Is It. She decided herself on the picture and took my camera and went searching. This is what she came up with. I'm saying she is tougher choosing then I am. Good Luck.

Project Green #8

This is a contribution to Project Green. Go to Anna Pics to see the end the fun.

How could I end Project Green without showing my Green truck I inherited from my Dad. I use it to tow the boat to the lake. where I try to catch some white Crappie that have a lot of Green on them. I went out this weekend and caught a few before the cold weather comes back.
If you come home and find this Green problem, there is only one thing to do with a closer look. (this isn't my house)
You might as well head for Club Kameleon which is very Green for a drink .
I'm Greened out of here.

Camera Critters # 3

Misty Dawn is doing a Sunday Camera Critters where you post photos of animals. Check it out.

What do you do when your driving back to work after lunch and see a dead animal in the road? You make sure you don't hit it when you drive by.

What happens when the animal walks by your car? You get out and take a picture for camera critters. He was walking the double yellow line but still in danger. It probably weighed at least 20 pounds.
You then get a large branch and force The large snapping turtle off the road. The turtle had his own ideas but when he snapped onto the stick I was able to drag him to the side of the road.
He was mad at me for disturbing him but he was now safe to go to the pond he was heading for.

Project Green # 7

This is a contribution to Project Green. Go to Anna Pics to join the fun.

What do you do when you drive past a woods full of of yellow and white daffoldills? You try top snap enough picture to show how much Green came through the leaves.

I Saw A Fishing Buddy Last Night

I ran into an old fishing buddy while out to eat yesterday. Don and I spent a lot of time together when we worked at the same office. He is an excellent fisherman and taught me a lot through the years. We have fished in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York together. He had a large boat that we used to fish Lake Erie. We have camped together on extended fishing trips. We always had loads of fun when we went out and usually caught a lot of fish.

He said we had to go out this year for sure and he has his boat on Mosquito Lake near Warren, Ohio. It is one of the lakes I fished before moving to Lake Hodgson.

Don introduced me to The United States Power Squadron (USPS) which I was a member of for several years. He is still a member and leader in the organization. I learned a lot from the courses they offer on boating and did a lot of teaching of courses. It got to be a little to much as I got older and ended up with a job with a lot of driving involved.

I'll have to tell you of some of the fishing trips we made at a latter time but needless to say we caught our fair share of fish on the trips. He even talked me into ice fishing for trout. That was a cold experience I won't soon forget.

Strike It Rich VI Sweepstakes

I have to be the luckiest guy in the world. I just received a check for $2,100,000 from the NME sales Chairman. With this check, I can retire early and start to live the very good life. I can go visit Mr. Chinchilla and watch his HDTV.

Wait a second it says it's not a check. There must be some mistake. No, I have to call an 800 number and report my entry code. Wait a second, aren't they the ones that sent the entry code to my house? Did they forget the code which they sent? Do they have another reason for sending me this entry?

Wait, there is a disclaimer here. I don't have to buy anything. I didn't even know I was buying anything. I better look into what this NME thing is. Why it means DBA National Magazine Exchange out of Clearwater, Florida. My goodness, all this work to find they are a secrete Publisher Clearing House type scam where the drawing is done yearly. This drawing is on 2/2/2010. Isn't that truly amazing, they can bombard you with offers for 2 years in order to see if the number they gave you is a winner. You will probably end up on a lot of other mailing lists to boot. Maybe I should report this to Jedijawa. He is pretty good with these scams.

When something seems to good to be true, it is to good to be true.

I thought this Green was hard to find something distinctive. I feel this met my criteria. Meet mister and misses tree in Green Ivy. Al Green tells how they feel.

This is the misses
and this is the master. Aren't they adorable.

Now I ask you what can be more Green the number 1 Green at Fox Den Golf Course. We have a Green Fairway, a Green Green and Green Trees. If you think nothing you are wrong.
The reason your wrong is nothing is Greener then John Deere Green. My friend Jerry repairs John Deere products. Even though 'Nothing Runs Like a Deere', they still need work done on them. Joe Diffie helps out with the song.

He has this plow in his yard for pulling behind the tractor and it's painted you guessed it, John Deere Green.

Spring Is In Full Glory

The nice thing about a wildflower pack is that a new surprise in color comes up each day.

We have the Lovely Yellow

and the Small Clump of White
and even the Pretty Purple
and Startling Blue.
But right now the flowering trees are putting on a show, Kent is one of the tree cities with trees on every street.

Here are the Flowering Pink Crab Apple lining the street
we also have the Pink Magnolias,
the White Star Magnolias,
and the Red Cherry
and the White Weeping Cherry. This family has a Marine in Iraq and flies the flag for him.

Project Green #2

This is my entrance into Project Green. Go to Anna Pics to join the foray.

Here is my project Green #2. The frog is a little green but what's inside is really green. This was a gift from my oldest daughter and is part of our flower garden decor.
