Header Competition Season 2 # 12 - Betwixt and Between

The header theme this week by Mac is "Betwixt and Between ". Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.  Mac idea of between holidays was a little tricky. I'm a little under the weather so am posting a little late.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

I thought maybe I would show this flock of geese that I went between with my boat.
They did make a cool split of the flock as I passed. My buddy Wally is motoring down the lake.
I finally decide on a pair of deer in the woods behind the house that were betwixt and between the trees.

Check what the others have shown.

Header Competition Season 2 # 11 - The Light

The header theme this week by Lanny is "Anticipation". Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.  Dave was really tricky this week with a subject that take thinking.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

Rather then take a photo of a light, I thought of the season and the light that was brought to us 2,000 years ago. So I based my shots around the Christmas season. This little clay manager in simplicity is very deep.
This photo shows a manger scene made from ceramic.
This is a Silver bulb on the main tree.
This shows the light shining on a red bulb on our Charlie Brown Tree.
But I decided on a decoration for Christmas that my wife had made. I think it is wonderful for the season and may its light shine for many years.

You can go see what the others have to show above. I wish everyone a joyous Christmas season.

Header Competition Season 2 # 10 - Anticipation

The header theme this week by Lanny is "Anticipation". Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.  Lanny was really tricky this week with a subject that take imagination.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

I was stumped for a while but choose the following to share. How about a deer anticipating the treat below the snow. Yes, it kept on snowing and after a slight thaw got another two feet of the white stuff.
Another thought was our annual trip on Thanksgiving Eve to see the Christmas lights. We did it late this year. Here is a house we never saw before with arched driveway lights.
We always come back to an over zealous light display in Kent. Here we have the back of the house and a Harley riding Santa.
The one I chose is of the front of this house with a place to drop off letters to Santa. We all "ANTICIPATE" his arrival. The count down was at 15 days.

You can go see what the others have to show above.

Header Competition Season 2 # 9 - Let It Snow

The header theme this week by myself is "Let It Snow". Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.  I had know idea what I was asking for when I chose this subject. Three days of snow has left us with 2 feet on the ground.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

I was just fishing last week but this is the results of choosing the subject of snow. The sun was shining for the first time this week.
The deck is really covered during this snow storm.
My artsy look at the snow with the Christmas lights. My snow covered truck is in the background.
The deer love the snow and to visit the backyard. Isn't she a beauty.
The one I chose shows the deer in the backyard.

You can go see what the others have to show above.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

I thought of my daughters new car Wheels with the bicycle Wheels above for a header.
I then thought of the Wheels all over Kent with all the construction. We have some snow on the ground.
I ended up with my grandson's favorite Hot Wheels. Here is a carrier with four different sets of Wheels.
The one I used for the header was a racing car Hot Wheel which is really cool.

You can go see what the others have to show above.

I tried to make a collage from Smilebox which doesn't play here. Go here to see it play.

I Then used Shape Collage but they wanted to advertise.
I used it to make a deer collage.
I chose the Buck Collage for the header.

I had to see what to post. Should I think out of the box with a pair of fawns with one licking himself?
Should I use my grandsons having a scuffle, all in fun? (Note to self; keep feet out of the shot.)
I decided to use my other grandsons teaching my son who was in charge.

Go see what the others have to show above.

Header Competition Season 2 # 5 - Persimaaon

The header theme this week by Lanny is "Persimmon". Mac, Gail's ManLannyDave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

Well, I am in a fine mess. I thought it was Pomegranate not Persimmon and I'm already late. O well, here is the wrong subject. I even went to the store to get a photo.
I saw this tree by the lake that had the right color.
I chose this view of my porch with the colorful Pomegranate mum. Oh well, things can click wrong in these older brains, at least it is a fruit.

So see the others, they probably even have the right color or fruit.

The morning scene show cleared trees and cool weather.
I chose this scene showing the windy days which we are now getting. Fall has arrived.

Check out what others are showing above.

Header Competition Season 2 # 3 - Sound Creation

The header theme this week by Gail's Man is "Sound Creation". MacGail's Man,LannyDave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

How could I think about sound creation without remembering our Spring trip crossing the Alps with the Shaker Heights Band. I bring back fond memories of our trip to Europe with a few views of the band creating sound. I start with a town in the foothills of the Alps - Brixen, Italy. This horn was creating a lot of sound as I crept in for the shot.
The trombones were sliding away creating the sound just right.
Can you find a more beautiful scene then from the birthplace of Mozart - Salzburg, Austria. Quite the crowd to hear the band. It was Spring and you could hear the sound of music in the air.
One of my favorite places was Innsbruck, Austria - How I love the tuba. I stood on my head for the shot. Just kidding, but that is me in the yellow shirt.
So I chose a header of the band playing at Innsbruck in the Alps. I love the view from the plaza near the Golden Roof.

Header Competition Season 2 # 2 - Sepia

The header theme this week by Mac is "Sepia". MacGail's Man,LannyDave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

How many of you know that SEPIA isn't just a way to make your photos look old. It is actually a process I used as an Engineer to make modified drawings from an original. You would use a special sepia toned paper and run it through a copying machine with your original drawing to make a copy that could be changed. You would then take the sepia copy and using an ammonia solution, that was really smelly, to take out the original dimension and put in the changed dimension you wanted. You ended up with an out of scale drawing but it could be done quickly and that was the purpose of the SEPIA. The world of computers and ACAD drawings has made the process obsolete. So today we use the SEPIA to make cool effects on a photo.

I took a photo of the lake as I set out at dawn in the pursuit of fish. Can you see the flock of Canada Geese in front of the island? Here is the original photo,
and here is the sepia of the lake, I think it is a cool effect.
I decided to use a American Swallowtail Butterfly photo for my header so here is the original,
and above is the SEPIA.

Header Competition Season 2 # 1 - Celebration

The header theme this week by Dave is "Celebration". MacGail's Man,LannyDave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that. Sorry I'm late again, computer problems that I hope are solved.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

This past weekend was Kent State's Homecoming Parade and football game against local rival Akron University.
My wife's group marched in the parade.
The Kent State Field House was turned into a CELEBRATION area. They were all waiting for the team to come through. Kent beat Akron to make the game ideal.
The CELEBRATION I want to share is the welcoming of the EXCEL group to Kent State. It took place at our house and the games were played and food eaten.
The cake is what I chose as my header, it is the perfect CELEBRATION symbol.

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Click to visit other sites. We have just turned TWO and are entering our 3rd season.

A special day on the lake today. I caught a 9" Bluegill which qualifies as a Fish Ohio Award fish. It took a minnow and was a good fighter.
Here are the biggest of the 13 fish I caught. A 9" bluegill, a 11" Yellow Perch and a 12 1/2" Crappie. It was a fun day.
Check out what others are doing in their world.

My computer has been very troublesome the past few weeks. It has been hard to visit so posting has been sporadic. I wanted to try to give you a sky photo this week. This is a photo from the lake where the fish above were caught. Fall is here and the leaves they are changing. The sky was gray but the colors of the trees were vibrant.
Be sure to see what others have to show above.

I have spent 8 weeks catching loads of Black Crappie, but alas the bite has stopped and they are doing work on the lake. There is one descent Green Perch which I caught.
So I changed lakes and also changed fish, I have gone from Black Crappie to harvesting Yellow Perch. They are running from 9" to 11 1/2" long.

Header Compition #51 - Water Reflections of Inanimate Objects

The header theme this week by myself is "Water Reflections of Inanimate Objects". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

The island of Lido, Italy brings me a morning reflection of one of the Lido canals.
The pump house at Lake Hodgson was pretty neat.
I really like this rock from the shore at Lake Hodgson.
It has a lot of character.
The final capture for the header comes again from Lido, Italy and a neat boat in the canal.

You can see my friends from the links above.

My World Tuesday Season # 2 Episode # 51

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Click to visit other sites.

Last year I bought Yellow Knock-Out Roses and here is the life cycle of the blossoms. You can see all the blooms the plant produces.
They first start out with a yellow bud with an orange tinge.
They then open up to a bright yellow bloom.
They then open up further and still have color.
The final stage is to turn white and loose their leaves.
I think it is a neat cycle of life.
