Header Competition Season 3 # 12 - "Between"

The theme this week is by Kathy is "Between". MacGail's Man, DaveKathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

This theme is based on the fact we are between Christmas and New Years. I decided to show something that is between. This is one of my favorite mallards which is a blond female.  I will show you photos of when she was between the males and the females.
She is a beauty.
I wonder if the males like blonds best?
You can really see the differences in this photo as she goes between the other females.
So my header is the blondie right in the middle of the males and females.

The theme this week is by me is "Look What I Saw". MacGail's Man, DaveKathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

This is a special day for me, I just turned 68. I just went to the doctor this week and everything is going well.

I chose the theme this week and it is very open. We should get some real variances in the post.  I was out fishing last week and guess what happened. It started to snow.
We tried to go fishing on Monday and got a real surprise. The ice was an inch thick. It was cold over the weekend.
I saw this today.
It was a peace macrame attached attached to the tailgate.
I saw this is a black squirrel that was on the the back deck.
What I chose for my header is a car decoration that I thought was neat. Is it Rudolph the Red Nose KIA.

This is my favorite car, a 1957 Chevy. What a neat Hot Wheel. I don't know why it turned sideways???
My second car was a 1956 Chevy Bel-Air two door hardtop. It was white over black similar to what is shown. I painted it all red.

I decided to show the car I always wished I had. A Chevy Corvette, what a sweet ride. These are some of my toys.

We are ready to turn the bend into December. The weather is a changing and the results can be seen on my deck.
I was able to capture a 13 point buck in the back yard. The deer are coming to share the food.
I put some corn out and the deer came in a few hours later.
How many animals do you see in this photo. Take a good look around the yard and in the woods.
What I chose as my header is a view of the snow covered trees in back yard. Is this the start of December weather?

Header Competition Season 3 # 6 - "Postcard From Kent, Ohio"

The theme this week is by Mac is "Postcard From (your home area)l". MacGail's ManLanny,Dave,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

This was a neat theme this week by my friend Mac. The neat thing with a college town is you have views of both the town and the college.  We are building the new Fairchild Ave. Bridge.
It is now open and almost complete.
I walked onto the bridge to get a view of the Cuyahoga River, one of the main reasons there is the city of Kent.
This is a view of the Main Street Bridge looking up the Cuyahoga River toward the Fairchild Bridge. you can see the grain elevator in this postcard.
This is the old train depot which has been converted to a restaurant.
Here is a view of the grain elevator.
There is new construction as the college makes a Hotel and Convention Center in the downtown area.
Here is a water tower on the KSU campus.
What I chose for my header is a postcard shot of the MAC Center which is used for sporting events and concerts. I know it wasn't named after our Mac from England.

How weird and wonderful are Frankenstein and his bride.Check out the sanguine colored roses. {Just learned that word last week}.
This pair of Egyptians caught my eye.
There was this neat chimp that had really scored with two bananas.
How about the Godzilla show , what a great group of construction.
I ended up choosing a weird and wonderful costume for my header. I really enjoyed this one. also nice pose.

Header Competition Season 3 # 4 -Sanguine

The theme this week is by Lanny is "Sanguine". MacGail's ManLanny,Dave, Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that. We have a new member this week. Be sure to visit Kathy and welcome her.

This weeks theme was a challenge. First I had to figure out what Sanguine was and then how to show it. Lanny chose a color which only a women would use, way to go my friend. I started looking for that color and soon found what I thought would show it. I decide to show a sanguine colored wild crab apple tree in the neighborhood.
I went in a little closer to see the tree.
I then went in to see the berries.
Then I looked at them in the shade.
I chose the header from the close-up photos of the tree. It sure looks like small apples.
