Header Competition Season 3 # 16 "Surprise"

Header Competition Season 3 # 16 - "Surprise"

The theme this week is by Kathy is "Surprise". She was surprised when we changed the order so came up with this theme. Mac, Gail's ManDave,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

I  thought this might be hard to do but several surprises came this week.

These are the deer triplets looking surprised from a sound they heard. I had some corn out for them to snack on after all the snow cover.
This was the snow cover last week.
Surprise, here it is this week.
The mild weather has allowed the downtown construction to make surprising advancement.
Surprisingly after the snow the Hyacin are coming out of the ground,
 and so are the Tulips.

The snow allowed for some sled riding last week. The grandchildren got out for Rachel's first outing. Since she lives in a milder climate down south she doesn't see snow.

What I decided to use is G getting surprised by his sister and cousin. Watch out G. You can see more photos on my Facebook site.   http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2789624713197.129741.1635729143&type=3

Header Competition Season 3 # 15 - "This ( ) Animal"

The theme this week is by me is "This (fill in the blank) Animal". Mac, Gail's ManDave,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

I love to photograph animals so the only problem I had was choosing my favorite for the header.
So here is "This Magnificent Animal" from my back yard a 13 point whitetail buck,
and here is "This Beautiful Animal" a chipmunk in my back yard,
and here is "This Stately Animal" a Great ble Heron from CVNP,
and here is "This Cautious Animal" a Red Squirrel from Herrick Fen,
and here is "This Unusual Animal" a Vermilion Flycatcher from Leon, Mexico.
What I chose were my favorite fawn triplets and "This Playful Animal" wins the header position.

Header Competition Season 3 # 14 - "Photograph the Photographers "

The theme this week is by Mac is "Photograph the Photographers". Mac, Gail's ManDave,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

I tried to decide what to show this week. Should I show this blog's photographer. I was at my daughters house watching the Steelers get beat by the Broncos. I went to take my driving test and even though I passed I realized I needed glasses. I had trouble tying hooks while fishing but put it off until now.
Maybe I should capture myself with my camera. There are some of my photographs behind me on the wall. This is a mirror shot.
I could show a photo of a friends daughter taking a photo with my camera.
How about a capture from our visit to Brixen, Italy with two different photographers taking photos. No matter where you looked there were wonders to capture with your camera.

I wanted to add a fun mirror shot (similar to fun house mirrors)of myself so here goes.
finally decided on a professional photographer taking a staged photo. He didn't seem to mind the capture but if he did I wouldn't have understood the language anyways.

Header Competition Season 3 # 13 - "New Beginnings"

The theme this week is by Gail's Man is New Beginnings". Mac, Gail's Man, Dave, Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

This is the start of a new year and the true start of winter in Kent. After a mild snow less Christmas we had 16" of snow on Monday evening and Tuesday. Here are some of the results with a shot of a friends back yard in the morning.
And from a different angle.
This is during the day as the snow fell from my front porch.
This is my backyard and deck in the storm.
What I chose was a break in the storm as my "New Beginnings". Can you imagine what I felt to get this between storms.
