I have wanted to share this photo of an osprey that had caught a shad and was taking it back to it's nest. I hope it was feeding some baby osprey.
Here is the osprey as it tried to get out of the water with the shad. A little hard to see but a cool snapshot.
How about a snapshot of a turkey when I visited Turkey.
My biggest ever freshwater fish. A 31" 21# Carp on 6# test line, caught on a minnow under a bobber. What a surprise.
She was full of eggs, check the belly, it is a Fish Ohio Award fish.
The theme this week by me is "Flowers". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. You can see what others show on my side bar.
I did an easy Spring theme as the world up north comes ablaze. I chose my Cornflower (Bachelor Buttons) as my header. I bought a plant at a farm market and they spread like crazy. They do a beautiful Spring bloom.
Sometimes you have to choose the right flower.
They come out dark blue the change to this purple shade.
It is such a delicate bloom.
I especially like the Dogwoods on the lake shore blooming. This fish are biting.
The theme this week by Kathy is "Mom". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. You can see what others show on my side bar.
I thought I would concentrate on the one of the Mom's I saw at the lake this week. The Canada Geese co-operate in taking gosling during this time of the year. This Mom was keeping an eye on me.
I saw a family on the shore and tried to get a few shots of the family.
The Mom moved them away from me but my zoom kept them close.
The Mom looked very attentive but the goslings were having a rile.
They enjoyed a little time getting to know each other. "He started it Mom".
The theme this week by Lew is "Spring Colors". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I will probably have a different take on this weeks theme. Spring colors to me has to do with the colors I see on the lake. My mind is on fishing and capturing nature on the lakes I fish. My header is from yesterday and the colors of the 9 5/8" Red Ear Bluegill. It qualifies as a Fish Ohio Awards fish over 9" long. Check out the Spring Colors on this catch.
Spring does bring some great bites. Here is a Walleye in it's Spring Colors.
My friend caught a 13 1/2" White Crappie. It is also a Fish Ohio Award fish over 13".
Surprises abound even in black and white. Here is a bald eagle flying over the lake as the Spring Colors come to the trees..
How about these little Canada Geese gosling. They are neat in their Spring Color.
