Sky Watch Season # 4 Episode # 30

Sky Watch Friday this is the place. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were a lot of people with beautiful Sky photos last week. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post. You can link a 2:30 PM EDT on Thursdays. SWF is run by Klaus, Wren, Sandy, Sylvia and myself.

The other day while down near the new bridge I saw the sun coming through the haze. I could see the top of the grain silos so I took a photo.
I went down the road and took another photo of the silos from below. It is amazing that this same sky showed so different from the angle of the shot.
Check out all the neat skies at the main site.

Angles always seem to show a new depth and dimension to photographs don't they? Great shots!

Nice silhouttes in the top one. Oh, I love silos - when we were house hunting, we visiting one which was a converted old factory with silos attached. The silos were the rooms - was interesting having round rooms. Kinda echo-y..

I was clicking to comment and noticed what (to me) looks like an eye in the upper left of your photo. :)
Overcast here too and snow is on the way - again!

Love that happy header!!! Sorry to be late getting here, had an appointment. I like the angles in your photos, as Denise said, they show a different depth and dimension. Hope you have a great weekend -- want to see more of those header type smiles!!

Looks like the haze turned bluer in the second shot. I so remember those silos from the midwest. Nice captures Tom.

Silos are always interesting to me, all the different configurations and materials.
Nice hazy Winter sky as well!

nice blend of the blue sky!

Great shots. Its strange how common grain towers have become. I don't know about Ohio but here in Oklahoma they are not really used any more.

I love that first pic, well done.

I just love the picture in your header! What a great catch!

That is a nice fish in your header. Wow.

I also like the grain elevator picture. Concrete. Most of them here are made from sheets of corrugated steel which look very nice when new but you know how rust works.

Have a good one.

Grain silos bring back bad work memories! great angles and yo've shown that the sun can shine over a silo! xo

Your skies look as overcast as ours are most of the winter. I love your header. Great picture.

I think I see a halo around that sun. I know that it is a local atmospheric event, but when I see it like that, it looks like a concussion emanating all the way from our star out there. Imagine what kind of power it would take to generate such a huge wake!

I always find it interesting when you get that ring around the sun. Nice silhouette in that one.

Great captures, Tom! The angle on the grain silos is wonderful and I like the halo around the sun. I'm also casting (no pun!) my vote for your header photo.

Nice bit of Sky Watching here Thomas.

Great to see Sky Watch still going stronge, you and the rest of the team do a great job my friend. The numbers taking part show it is still very popular...

angles add lots of interest and depth to a photo, looks like a big day out fishing for you in that header too

Love the starkness of the silo against the sky.

Great captures Tom! Even turning around you get such a different colour many times. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

Lots of fish died here from the freeze in early January (you probably heard). Nobody has ever seen anything like it (since 1989 at least, or was it 81). It doesn't freeze down here often, but this was a whopper.

The sky does look completely different in the silo shot. Interesting captures!

Those are neat photos. They remind me of a place on the Hudson River where there is a lot of graffiti and plenty of air and space. Beautiful.

The turkey shots below are lovely.

Pietro Brosio said...

Great shots, Tom. The sky in the first picture is so dramatic and nice!

The Birdlady said...

Hi Tom - Yes,it's ALL amazing! (And I love those turkeys!)

Hmmm...what a big catch you have there in your header! How interesting it is that the sky looks so different for different angles. Enjoy your weekend :)

There have been so many blecchy skies here as well.... booo. But I do admit they make nice photos as you have done especially in that first one. Very nice.
I hope all is well.

We've had the same kind of skies that you've had over the past few days. Although I don't think the sun has mamaged to break through at all. I like the difference in the sky as you changed positions.
