Header Competition Season 2 # 13 - Squaring the Circle

The header theme this week by Gail's Man is "Squaring the Circle ".  Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.  Gail's Mans idea was really tricky. I'm still under the weather so am posting a little early while I'm feeling fairly well.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

What a tough theme. It does come from the scientific community so I could understand it. The idea was could you construct a square the same area as a circle. I made this little explanation of what is done. A perfect example of pie can be square (just a joke).
Finding examples of the theme were nil. I thought of some circles which were nice to show like this older cars headlights, tire and wheel.
This show car was also pretty neat. Check out those wheels and fog lights!!!!
What I ended up choosing was a Carolina Wren on a suet feeder hanger that went from a circular arc to a square feeder. I only wish you could enjoy its song. Quite the bird, don't you guys from England agree?????

See what others show today, there should be a lot of diversity.

Girls are birds?! That's a new one to me! I love that I learn new things every day! Yesterday I learned why we say, "feeling under the weather"! I think I will turn on my birding by ear cd and listen to your Carolina Wren for a bit!

Love the old car. Any idea what it is? It's certainly got a lot more style than the later one.

You got a bit further in your mathematics than me I see. Lovew the wren and a nice play on the theme to get it to fit well done.

Love that header picture, FG!!
But are you sure that Carolina Wren is singing? It looks like he's sticking his tongue out at you. That seems to happen a lot. LOL

Quite the challenge this week! Old cars are pretty neat, but I, of course, prefer your final choice for your header. I've been enjoying the company of 3 or 4 C. Wrens around my daughter's yard in the mornings while I sit outside with my coffee. It's a treat I don't ordinarily have the opportunity to enjoy! Happy New Year to you! Feel better soon. !karen

I hope you are soon feeling better, Tom.
I really liked your explanation of how you can get a square with the same area as a circle. (Once a math teacher, always a math teacher!).
