Header Compition Season #2 #47 "Space Race"

The theme this week is by Gail's Man which is "Space Race". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave, Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.

This took some deep thinking to get this one. The space race took place in Florida and I was never near the cape. So I'll race into space and show some space shots. Here is one while I was in space above the earth.
You can be in space in a small plane.
A blimp ride will take you slowly into space.
You can even take a helicopter, I don't want to take this one.
This is a cool one.
I thought of space reflected in a pond.
What I decided to show as the header is a jet high in the sky racing through space.

See what the others show with the above links.

Love that reflection too.

These are great, Tom. I like the varying perspectives on the topic in these.

Love seeing vapour trails. The sky looked empty when no planes flew due to the volcano last year.

Good article, first I thought it was covering the activities of Virgin space.

Greetings,

Breathtaking shots. That is a crazy looking helicopter and greatly enjoyed the reflection shot as well. Great stuff.

You came up with some great ideas to illustrate the Space Race theme. You've shown some neat ways to get into space.

Hi Tom,
It's been while...
Great interpretations but that last shot is beautiful with its reflection and rippled water.
Hope all is well with you.
