Header Compitition Season 2 #48 "Big Bird"

The theme this week is by myself which is "Big Bird". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave, Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.

The first thing I thought about is Sesame Street and the big yellow bird but I have no photos. So let us see what we will find.

I looked int a tree to see what I could find why an Eastern Towhee in the pine tree.
I continued to search a parking lot a seagull was on the strut.

Out to the lake a boating I did go with Canada Geese going to and fro.

And then I saw a large bird buiding a nest.
And another walking the shore.
So the biggest bird in my part of the world is the Great Blue Heron so on the header it did go.
See what the others show with the above links.

Beautiful shot, FG!!!
We have them here, too, but I can never get close enough to get a good shot.

You found some very interesting birds, but I think you picked the right picture for your header.

You've got some of my favorite winged dudes here. Seagulls know all about big, don't they? It's in the walk. I say tomorrow we all try to walk like that, to feel big about life itself! (And not be ashamed of ourselves for trying to mug bystanders of their french fries!)

I was tempted to spend way more time than I had to spare waiting for the perfect picture of a hummingbird visiting my flowers. He might be small but I do believe he thinks he is a big bird! I love all the photos of birds, thanks for sharing them.

Wonderful pics. The blue heron is my favourite - just stunning!

I just voted myself least likely to pay attention. I know Lanny's theme is this week, but what's the theme?
