The theme this week is "Past Week's Sky" by Lew. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
You certainly picked a gray week to look at the skies. As I look at the skies today I see nothing but overcast bland skies. Since I had advance notice, I had two days of interesting skies. On Saturday morning we had a small window of morning skies that said "sailors take warning". You know that red skies in the morning warning. So here is on capture from the morning for my header.
It was a nice show that didn't last.
So I threw open the shutters, wait that was the window, to see what was happening out there.
The we had gray skies until Monday at sunset on my birthday. The skies opened up a bit and I saw a little sun.
It was a light show for certain, do you see it peeking through as it set?.
The sun tried to peek thru and almost made it.
As we drove to supper the skies started to go back to gray.

The theme this week is "Getting Ready For Christmas" by Christine. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
The house is starting to get the Christmas flavor. My wife loves to decorate for this time of year. Do you believe in the majic of this time of the year.
Here is the fancy table setting.
The coffee table has a festive candle.
The walls have fancy decor also. A long way to go but it is a start.

"One Object From the Home"
The theme this week is "One Object From the Home" by Mac. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
The theme this week made me think of our new shower head. We removed the tube and changed to a full shower. The head is a Moen and is two part with variable flow.
It has a nice shower output and will not burn you.
Here it is without the flow.
This is the complete shower.
I found something in the photo that didn't belong, Let's see who spots it first. Write it in the comments.

"Colour White"
The theme this week is "Colour White" a general theme (by Mac because of the spelling). Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. Mac is travelling but he posted. Lew is off this week traveling.
This is a white Hibiscus I saw on a walk, It has a neat papery look on its petals.
A full moon with it's white reflective surface.
The White House in Washington DC.
This is a white Water Lily.
A white Calla Lily.
A white car at a British Invasion car show. I'm sure Mac will know what kind.

Fun Fun Fun
The theme this week is "Fun Fun Fun" by me. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. Mac is travelling but he posted.
I recently made a trip to visit my daughter near Houston, Texas. There were some opportunities to have some fun as shown through my camera. I saw my first Anhinga at a lake near her house. They are called a snake bird because of their curved neck.
What a fun trip, Houston has a neat aquarium. Did you ever see a shiny flat fish like this one. There was a whole tank full of them.
The Lion Fish is a danger but good eating.
How about the eyes on this Piranha, devil eyes for certain.
There was a fun visit to Tomball Texas and the old railroad station. It had been converted to a museum. Tomball was formerly Peck, Texas but was renamed after US Representative Tom Ball (1897-1903) for having the railroad run through Peck..
I took a photo walk with my grand daughter and here is a mushroom photo I liked.
It's funny how some little things can attract your eye. It was cloudy and the mosquitoes came to feed. That quickened the walk.
This is my daughter, wife and grand daughter outside for supper on their patio.

"Trees"
The theme this week is "Trees" by Christine. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. Mac is travelling but he posted.
I don't know what is more lovely then a tree in it's full color. This weekend brought about the changing of the colors in the trees. The remnants of the hurricane is bring bad weather here today. Here is an Oak Tree in it's full color. Orange and red are the predominate colors.
Here is another view with my daughter's house in the background with my grandson in the yard.
They also come in yellow.
And also a purplish red.
And sometimes they are half changed.
No wonder they call the pines the evergreen trees.

Trees
BY JOYCE KILMER 1914
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

"Selfie"
The theme this week is "Selfie" by Mac. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I don't like selfies, I don't take a great photo. The selfie taken by yours truly. I took this in a mirror with some of my art in the background.
How about in my car behind the wheel.
Showing my The Ohio State colors. Yes, they are still undefeated this season after winning the college championship last season.
Here is one out in nature with a water feature behind.

"TODAY"
The theme this week is "Today" a general theme. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. Christine is not able to post this week.
Today I took a walk around Fred Fuller Park in Kent. It is a neat little park and I was pretty much alone. I stepped on something as I walked a path and here is what it was. A little acorn, the seed of the mighty Oak Tree. A simple subject today but it is a mighty grower.
There were a lot of trees going through the Fall season color change.
Some of the little ones were quite far along.
The small garden plants were still quite green.
The pond is now gone and a little bubbling stream now takes it's place. There is now a lot of land where the pond once stood.
On the drive done a neighborhood tree was in bright colors. So, that was what I saw today.

"What is That?"
The theme this week is "What is That?" by me. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I had full intentions of going a completely different way but plans change. I was out on the lake yesterday and had to ask, "What is That?". There was a duck on the shore that I had never seen before. It was a female Common Merganser. It jump into the water and I was able to get it swimming. I love the head coloring and the orange elongated bill on this duck. Do you like her haircut?
Here is a view of the shore and what caught my eye. There was a Canada Goose and a duck I don't know. It may be a domesticated duck. There were also the American Black Duck which stayed all season.
It was a fast swimmer and I enjoyed following it.
They do have great coloring even in the body.
Now I know why it is called an American Black Duck. Look at the head of the male.
