"Not What It Seems"

The theme this week is "Not What It Seems" by Kathy.  Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that. Mac is travelling around England and Lew is missing so only three of us.

There are three of these plants growing in my flower garden. They have 5 leaves as you can see.
I did not plant them and they are not what they seem.
They are a slow growing plant. Do you know what they are?
They were planted by the squirrels to save the nut until the next year. They forgot to come back so the seed turned into this plant.
They are baby Ohio Buckeye Trees that are growing. The tree is starting to bud and after pollination little buckeyes will start to grow.
See what the others show on my sidebar.

Interesting. I have at least one nice little oak tree, growing at a good spot and I have the squirrels to thank for that.

Hello, is it a tree you will keep? The critters do like to leave thing behind but they also steal stuff like our bulbs. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

Neighbors years ago were a social worker who worked with troubled teens and his wife, a writer. Their unit had previously been occupied by college students. She diligently cultivated a plant which she had not herself planted and was unfamiliar with. Her husband one day came home and saw it and it promptly was uprooted. He knew it from his training. Looked a bit like your buckeye--but it was not.

I saw that you said the tree is growing in your flower bed. If you are going to keep the tree, I assume you will be transplanting it.
